Worm, you must be young in your years (thinking two decades is a long time).

20 years is exactly my target date for the death of the theater (as well as what we're talking about), and 20 years is nothing.

That is just around the corner.

Every single story ever made was "made up as they went along."

Yeah I know films make alot of changes but they normally tend to have a basic plot....they pretty much ripped it up when lindeloff turned up.....

I felt a bit sorry for giga aswel lol...

lol, being 35 I consider 10 years longer than I care to look forward into the future. basically by that time I'll be near dyeing age (don't plan on living past 60, refuse to lose my dignity and my physical strength)

Ridley is like that. He's known to go with his instincts at times.

I felt a bit sorry for the original writer....(whats his name?)

He was pretty much kicked to the curb....harsh business really.

And how much wine did they drink? Lol

Bad idea trying to watch this after a Nursing exam lol Maybe tomorrow I can restart it.

Loved the movie, yea you can be picky, but what a hell of a sci-fi movi e and Fassbender kills in this.

I finally got a chance to see this last night! I'm speechless! It was amazing!
As far as PQ goes, it might be one of the best I've ever seen on the format. My only regret is not having gotten the chance to see it in the theatre.
Can't wait for a repeat viewing!

Not quite there yet, but well on my way.

Just you wait. The difference between 35 and 40 is huge. I hear the difference between 40 and 50 is astronomical.

My body has slowed down a lot in the past three years. It's like someone drove me though a bog on a motorcycle with an emergency break on. I'm like WTF?!

It was around 38 that reality began to set in, and I found myself identifying with Weyland's motivations as I sat in the theater (much more than I would have liked too).

What's with you young folks?? I'll be 72 in a little over a month and I still hike twelve miles a day three times a week. My blood pressure is 117/65 and my heart rate at rest is 50.

Meanwhile, back at the thread: "The creature did change in some pretty dramatic ways from draft to draft. But the most dramatic change was the removal of the xenomorph from the film. That was a shift that happened at the same time as I stepped off the film. A lot of that push came from the studio very high up; they were interested in doing something original and not one more franchise film. That really came to a head at the studio - the major push to focus on the new mythology of Prometheus and dial the Aliens as far back as we could came down from the studio." (Spaihts)

Things that might have been (SPOILERS)

Wow. The studio wanted to do something original?! Was there a breakout of H1N1 over there at that time? Did everyone have a high fever? I'm pretty sure they exorcised that word from their vocabulary long ago, replacing it with the words remake/reboot/sequel/prequel.

Maybe they were all infected with the black goo and were out of their minds like Fifield.
