I'd be honestly surprised if they announce any details about the blu-ray release before September 14th (when Prometheus opens in Italy). Otherwise, they'd be officially spoiling the movie for some.

A 10.11.12 blu-ray release gives Italy exactly 4 weeks to enjoy Prometheus in theaters.

I personally don't think it's accurate though. For one, it's only listed on the 3D version and secondly, because it's a Thursday. I could be wrong though.

Videoeta is reporting the 11th also

How do i know this...

The BBFC has 2 separate listings for deleted scenes the one that has
10min these scenes are:
Tis the season
Skin
Were Not Alone Anymore
Strange Bedfellows
David's Objective
A king Has his Reign

Now i would bet that those are separate deleted scenes the one that will be on the menu...

Now the other listing for scenes is @22min
Arrival Of The Engineers
Our First Alien
Hollaway HungOver
Janek Fills Vickers In
Fifield Attacks
The Engineer Speaks
Final Battle
Paradise

These deleted scenes will probably end up back in the movie...and why do i think this? simple...Arrival of the engineers and Paradise are both extended opening and ending scenes...and if i remember correctly the extended opening scene was already confirmed to be put back in....And the ending will most likely be put back in as well that is the reason why there are 2 separate lists of scenes, and i remember Scott saying that there will be 20 extra minutes put back in to the movie...at least that is IMHO...
Good thinking!
I hope they release an extended cut not done by Ridley, because if he ever does one we'll have to wait longer and pay again.

It appears that the info on FOX Connect is slightly different than Amazon:

Prometheus - DVD - $18.99:

Disc 1: DVD Theatrical Feature

Audio: English: 5.1 Dolby Digital, Spanish: Dolby Surround, French: Dolby Surround
Language: Subtitles: English, French, Spanish
Theatrical Aspect Ratio: Widescreen: 2.40:1

Prometheus - Blu-ray/DVD+Digital Copy - $25.99:

Disc 1: Blu-ray Theatrical Feature
Disc 2: DVD + Digital Copy

Audio: English: 7.1 DTS-HD Master Audio, Spanish: 5.1 Dolby Digital, French: 5.1 Dolby Digital
Language: Subtitles: English, French, Spanish
Theatrical Aspect Ratio: Widescreen: 2.40:1

Prometheus - 4 Disc Collector's Edition - $31.99:

Disc 1: Blu-ray 3D Theatrical Feature
Disc 2: Blu-ray Theatrical Feature
Disc 3: Blu-ray Bonus Disc
Disc 4: DVD + Digital Copy

Audio: English: 7.1 DTS-HD Master Audio, Spanish: 5.1 Dolby Digital, French: 5.1 Dolby Digital
Language: Subtitles: English, French, Spanish
Theatrical Aspect Ratio: Widescreen: 2.40:1

http://www.foxconnect.com/catalogsea.../?q=prometheus

If I had to guess, I'd say the special features are limited to the Collector's Edition...and there's no mention of an extended cut.

By the way, FOX Connect confirms the release date for all 3 is 10.11.12.

While I was probably leaning towards getting the 3D version anyway (future proofing, since I don't currently own a 3D TV), this still rubs me the wrong way. They should not only make the supplements also available on the 2D BD version, but on the DVD as well.

Also, I agree it seems extremely unlikely now that we're getting any kind of extended cut. It's a shame, but obviously not a deal breaker for me. Still, with so much deleted material, it's odd that we're not getting any kind of extended cut. I have to wonder if Ridley's starting to get concerned about his reputation concerning director's cuts. He may be wanting to not give the impression that he compromised on his theatrical cut.

I trust Ridley's judgment. The Extended Edition of Alien was inferior to the Theatrical (Director's Cut). The Theatrical Cut of Prometheus is the Director's Cut. There is every reason to believe that an attempt at an Extended Cut of Prometheus would also be inferior to the Director's Cut, so why bother?

Having access to the deleted/extended scenes via the menu is enough for me. My order is in.

Really hoping that info isn't correct(most FOX connect info before the release of films isn't anyway) as I really don't want to have to get the 3D set to get the bonus disc.

+1. I have no interest in the 3D set, and it will be really disheartening if that is the only way to get the bonus disc.

Well, we can always look at it the other way around: getting the 4-Disc Collector's set is the only way to get the 3D version.

Hmm... Foxconnect has the 4 disc $3.00 cheaper than on Amazon. That's a surprise.

How is the release date a surprise? It was hinted at during the end credits.

I knew when I saw the film that it would be coming out October 11.

looks like they cant find a better way to get people to buy the 3d version than to include THE bonus disc that they know everyone wants.

Kinda lame. That way they can get their sales figures up and say "see , everyone buys 3d, no one buys 2d anymore"

you are quite misten there !

theatrical IS NOT directors, the new dvd/blu-ray version IS the directors cut !

from wiki :

"The "Director's Cut" restored roughly four minutes of deleted footage while cutting about five minutes of other material, leaving it about a minute shorter than the theatrical cut.[58] Many of the changes were minor, such as altered sound effects, while the restored footage included the scene in which Ripley discovers the cocooned Dallas and Brett during her escape of the Nostromo. Fox decided to release the Director's Cut in theaters, and it premiered on October 31, 2003.[58] The Alien Quadrilogy box set was released December 2, 2003, with both versions of the film included along with a new commentary track featuring many of the film's actors, writers, and production staff, as well as other special features and a documentary entitled The Beast Within: The Making of Alien. Each film was also released separately as a DVD with both versions of the film included. Scott noted that he was very pleased with the original theatrical cut of Alien, saying that "For all intents and purposes, I felt that the original cut of Alien was perfect. I still feel that way", and that the original 1979 theatrical version "remains my version of choice".[89] He has since stated that he considers both versions "director's cuts", as he feels that the 1979 version was the best he could possibly have made it at the time.[89]"
