Yes, Prometheus made me wonder why Naomi shouts every line she has.

Theres more to Starship Troopers than you might think. Not a lot more but certainly a hell of a lot more than Transformers!

Heinlein's novel Starship Troopers has been accused of being fascistic while the film satirises the book and its militarism.

I found Prometheus very poor, firstly it was an unnecessary film. Why not leave the Alien's origins a mystery? Secondly, it suffered the problems all prequels made years later have - the tech looks better in the prequel which makes you wonder what happened in the intervening years. A very good cast was pretty much squandered, its rare that Charlize Theron can't turn a poor film round but she had little to do except fill a tight body suit, Sean Harris seemed to have been thrown off Braveheart for overacting and the thing that travelled furthest was Noomi's accent which seemed to be on its own tour of the universe. Guy Pearce appeared to be Rupert Murdoch in space and either Hollywood has run out of elderly actors or he'll be back without makeup in the sequels. Which is what depresses me most, a couple of incoherent hours wasted instead of telling a story with an end, its presumptious and cynical to think this deserves sequels. Iceland looked nice, though

Your comment was definitely pretentious, and unoriginal. Telling people to go watch Michael Bay because they didn't like the same film as you has been said too many times to count.

Love it or hate it, I think this movie sets up a potentially great sequel (Paradise). Probably my most anticipated movie for the next 3 years.

I loved this as well. I think that people sometimes think to much, analyze to much, and approach a film with preconceived notions. This movie was thought provoking, and kinda dumb in spots. And that's OK with me.It CAN be both.

And it is in close competition with Avatar as the best looking blu yet.

The 3D version is amazing. I think it looks better than when I saw it in 3D at the theater.

Finally got around to watching this and while it's not a great movie, it's a good brainfart like the Star Wars prequels were. Interesting to see how the Alien universe started but nothing much beyond that. Ridley Scott tried too hard with the film and there are major inconsistencies.

The one thing that Prometheus managed to do was create an even larger plot hole. The crew of the Nostromo (from Alien) lands on LV-426, which is the same planet that Aliens takes place on. I realize that Ridley was trying to bridge the Prometheus trilogy into Aliens while still managing to keep the two separate, but Prometheus manages to leave a gaping plot hole where it's unknown how the 'Aliens' managed to get from planet LV-423 to LV-426.

Prometheus was a good film, enjoyable, popcorn movie and here's hoping that it doesn't take another 20 years to make the second and third films. I'll be happy as long as James Cameron stays far away from these films.

I saw the film at a cheap theatre with an audience that treated the place like a McDonald's (I was also amazed to see so many kids at a film that I was surprised the MPAA didn't rate an NC-17) and a fixed 2:1 aspect ratio (cropped from the 2.40 presentation on the 35mm print). The film was better than its reputation and Noomi Rapace and her adorable English accent was very pleasing. However, I don't get how they could make Prometheus 2 when the film has a closed ending that ties in with Alien.

Anyway, I was disappointed to found out that the release is the 2.40 version rather than the 1.90 version that played on IMAX. Like with Skyfall (which I'm holding out on until the 1.90 version is released, since I cannot imagine the film in scope), I feel that an option should have been given.

I'm just shocked that Hollywood hasn't tried to remake the Alien films or upgrade the special effects. lols Think I'm going to be watching Prometheus and the Alien films this weekend.
