I think one of the key reasons they look so damn good in Starship Troopers is because they had extra post production time which meant attention to detail and plenty of fine tuning/enhancing.
Plus Starship Troopers wasn't just bugs. There was a good amount of space scenes that had some excellent effects, like fleets of starships colliding and the awesome scene of the Roger Young ship getting destroyed.

That 4 Disc set is still the crowning gem in my collection. Damn wonderful set.
Me too!
I saw it in Imax 3D and it was awesome!

This is one of the movies that makes me really annoyed that I don't have a 3D TV (and probably won't for quite some time). I've future proofed this film, Hugo, and I've also got the 3D version of The Hobbit on order.

I'm not a huge 3D supporter, but there are certain films that I would freaking love to watch as they were intended. The 3D for this film was spectacular in the theater.

I really need to buy this sometime as well as the Alien Anthology, and sit down and watch them again.

Could NOT pass it up for $12.99, picked it up at Best buy, 4 Disc version, comes with 3D Blu-ray as well as The Furious Gods: Making Prometheus BluRay Disc. Only problem is the Redemption Code is NOT valid, enough though it say's valid until 10/12/14

I think I need to rewatch this again. I now have a 5.1 system. I didn't have that when I originally got this 4 Disk set!

I couldn't resist this price. I just checked my rewards points and I had a $10 certificate waiting so I placed the order for the 4-disc 3D Collector's edition and it came to $3.20 including free expedited shipping!! I've been waiting for just the right deal to pick this up and I'm petty sure this was it!

Honestly, I have a love-hate relationship with this film. Mostly hate. I still find it a mess of a film, and some important scenes being cut didn't help things at all. But it's still a part of the Alien universe, which I'm a sucker for, and it stands out as such a curiosity film to me as how many things can go wrong in a film, yet somehow still remain watchable, that I still think it deserves a place on my shelf. Especially with the tons of extra content and 3D which makes it a steal for $12.99, let alone the $3.20 I paid. I hate Best Buy most of the time, but sometimes they come through.

You guys here feel this is worth upgrading if i already own the Blu Ray ? I recently got a 3D TV and some titles i have upgraded were def. worth it (Final Destination 4) and others i felt fell a little flat (Final Destination 5 for sure & Predator which was so-so). I like the price drop but just don't wanna throw away money if effects wise, the results aren't all that special.

This is one title well worthy of a double-dip.

This was me, I don't have a 3D TV, but I picked this up upon release b/c I wanted all the extras. Its more than worth it at its current price.

I love how I bought this last week at $14.99 thinking that was such a great price for what you get and that it couldn't possibly go any lower. Here we are a week later and it's $2 cheaper...thanks Seriously, what were the chances of this going lower than the price I paid?

Only if they're still stuck with too many.
