So for some reason, the film has been taken off a lot of digital services, like Vudu and Amazon. Anyone know what's going on? Is this temporary or permanent? Just an odd thing that caught my eye.

Which is why disc media should never be replaced with locker services!

My copy of Prometheus is still in "My Vudu". If you own it, it's not going anywhere.

Uh huh, and what happens if VUDU goes belly up? What happens if your ISP has a cataclysmic failure of some kind? Luckily, if either one of these happens I can still play the BD.

What happens if your house burns down?

Nothing is permanent.

You guys, I need help... I bought this movie for the 11th time since it came out. Yes, 5 of those copies were gifts... And I only bought those that had slipcovers. I just can't leave them in the store at that price. *quietly leaves before gets thrown in the looney bin*

I don't know where I was when this came out in theaters.. Don't remember a trailer or anything playing. When the Blu-ray came out, I read all the hate, how it's plot holes and etc.
Didn't matter to me, I was all over it anyway. I've watched it numerous times in 3d (love that storm in 3d) and in 2d for the first time the other night. I think a big problem most people have going into it is they're expecting "another Alien movie." Where Alien/s were horror/action movies, respectively, I see Prometheus as more of a... drama, suspense, story telling movie. Being set in the Alien universe is merely a bonus in my opinion.

It was supposed to be more Horror based...
Then Lindeloff came in...

It has been quite sometime since I last saw this movie, but I remember liking it when I saw it in the theater, both the acting and the special effects were very well done and I specially loved the music in it too.

However, I am curious though when are they going to make the sequel to Prometheus? Last time I heard they were working on it, but that was shortly after the movie was released on Blu-ray and DVD.

Well, I remember liking this movie too, when I first saw it in the theatre, but unlike other movies, the more I think about this movie, the more I hate it.
It is cerebrally offensive.

Thank you for the link. I heard that the sequel's name was going to be called "Paradise", I don't know if that is simply a working title or if they plan to just call it Prometheus 2.

i does has some plot holes and it can be a bit boring at times but when it's good it's good

and saying that it still miles ahead of other science fictions films that has come out in recent years

wouldn't mind a longer version, which more dialogue scenes

When hearing the commentary by Ridley i Wonder was he is so mad (there is a Whole lot of F-Words there)

I'd love to see an extended version. It wouldn't really rescue the movie, but I've become quite attached to the deleted scenes, like Janek talking about the bioweapons dump and the classic stalk-and-slash confrontation between Shaw and the Engineer.

This is Ridley Scott we're talking about, so it's got a decent chance.

It is flawed but I still really like it. Boring though? I never found it boring - not for a minute - in fact, I want it to be longer!

And as you say, how many comparable SF films of the last few years are better exactly?

I watched it for the third time (3D this time) not long ago and enjoyed it just as much as the first two times.

It may have entered an "HBO window" (i.e. a time period where HBO has exlusive rights for electronic distribution). But as of right now it's still available for sale on iTunes.

This only affects new buyers. Everybody who has acquired it before gets to keep it in their locker of course.
