There is a set coming out in Germany which contains Prometheus and the 4 Alien films, might just be a one off set or might be the shape of things to come.

To be honest, I was never all that crazy about the teaser poster - even more so after seeing the film. It seemed like it was trying it's best to evoke 'Alien' (much like the trailer marketing), whereas the BD cover represents the film better imo (and I think it's a more interesting cover design honestly).

I really wish they'd go ahead and announce this sucker. I want to see what the Collector's Edition cover looks like (hopefully the same or similar to the 2D version), and I'd like to see a full and complete list of the supplements. Better yet, I'd prefer it was just October 11 already.

I was at FYE yesterday and they had a poster about reserving a copy of Prometheus "out 10/11/12". That can't be the correct date seeing how it's a Thursday.

Check Amazon, FoxConnect, DVDEmpire, etc. They all say 10/11/12.

I would love to pick this up, but, considering Ridley Scott's track record with re-releasing his films with extended cuts/bonus features/etc... I am going to wait if this one seems a little bare.

It's looking that way, but no official confirmation yet. In any case, just think of it the other way around - the 3D disc is only available on the Collector's Edition.

No official confirmation from Fox yet, but every retailer is listing the 2D version to only have 2 disc(the BD and DVD), with the 3D version only having the bonus disc. Most international releases of the film seem to follow the same pattern.

Man. The closer it gets here, the harder it is to resist getting even though, like others, I'd like to wait for an extended cut. I think I may be suckered into double dipping this bad boy.
