The script was one of the best things about the movie. This is a movie that didn't want to spoonfeed everything to the audience, and I felt that was great.

I don't think there is a released extended cut, besides the directors cut which is not much of a difference. There are a lot of deleted scenes, which as you said had to be cut out to keep it from being to violent. The extra scenes are a little violent, however they add something to the movie and in some cases really add to the movie. Other deleted scenes should have been left out though.

It’s just such a creepy movie though, I love it!

To me , a great movie is one that leaves the audience to ponder. It makes it even better that we will find out with a sequel on the way.

I thoroughly enjoyed Prometheus...one question though...
How will they introduce the new cast for the sequel??? i mean if they are headed to the Engineers home world how would they explain the appearance of the other human characters???

Maybe there are humans already there? Maybe they are there willingly or being held? I can't wait to see what 'Paradise' has in store. There's a deleted scene (rumored) on the Promtheus blu ray entitled 'Paradise.' Hopefully this will give us a tease as to what's in store for the sequel.

The dialogue was so unconvincing and clumsy it practically throws you out of the film. If it wasn't for the visuals and the acting from Fassbender I wouldn't even have this on order.

It's better than Event Horizon. I didn't like that movie at all. Anderson has zero finesse.

Who knows, perhaps there won't be any more characters than the one(s) that survived in the end of Prometheus. Or maybe there won't be any humans at all. Who knows how much time will pass between movies, maybe they will have a new cast and crew of a new ship looking for the crew of Prometheus.

The dialogue was fine. I watched the movie 4 times and had ZERO problem with it. Really, if you applied these same kinds of arguments to Alien or Aliens, you'd get the same result. I'm tired of the application of mythical standards that no actual film lives up to.

I think part of it will involve the aftermath of the disappearance of Weyland and the merger with Yutani I would think. How that will fit in with Shaw and David is questionable, but they're definitely already confirmed for the sequel.

I only saw it once. Maybe after I see it a few more times it will improve but this is my opinion walking out of the theater. I also think the hype of the movie led people to believe it was going to be as good or better than Alien(s)...

Who cares if the dialougue was cheesy? I didn't want a drama to move me, I wanted action and thrills, which is what I got.

If a film maker made a film with "realistic" dialogue it would be unwatchable. It makes as much sense as arguing that Star Wars shouldn't have sound effects in space during battle sequences.

The film had its flaws....but really, no one goes to this kind of picture for the dialogue.

Event Horizon is a great movie, wish we had more like it. There are few deleted scenes but I don't think an extended cut.

Event Horizon is no classic but its certainly a blast. I always thought it could have done with being an hour longer myself - just too short!

Prometheus blew me away and I cant decide between that and The Dark Knight Rises for film of the year.
I have to disagree here Jim. whats more scary than a big ball of fire? The sun is hell itself. Its a Sci-Fi horror from start to finish,
[Show spoiler]but with a happy ending.

I think this thread has gone too far off-topic.
