What are you going to do when the Prometheus sequel comes out?

I've got the Alien Anthology (USA version - I love the packaging) and will happily sit Prometheus and (hopefully) its sequel along side it.

Getting those 'lob in the latest sequel' cash-grab style box-sets can end up being a bit of a 'chasing your tail' exercise.

Good question! However I don't tend to display all my collector's box sets in my slatted drawer. I usually just take out the movie cases that's already packaged inside and put them in with the rest of my Blu-ray collection (in alphabetical order).

Correct me if I'm wrong or please add but as it stands now the "Evolution: Prometheus to Alien Box Set" shown over at the Amazon UK site is the only version and NOT region free correct?

In other words we over here in the USA are getting screwed..again?

What do you mean by screwed? Just get the Alien Anthology and then Prometheus. There is nothing in that set that is exclusive.

Ridley Scott is notorious for releasing multiple versions of his films.
Look at the new Blade Runner release coming out soon, for example.


I won't lie, I am very anxious to add this film to my collection, but, with everything else coming out around the holidays..... I, personally, am going to wait. I may end up buying this during the "Black Firday" sales. My birthday is that same weekend this year.

I honestly don't know what's in the Alien Anthology but the point was we here are not getting anything like this....

Well, not quite exclusive, but depending on which site you get your information from, the UK box set includes:

Nine disc box set containing:

Both versions of have the same packaging and I am guessing the same nine discs. But they vary in terms of what they include.

As far as I know, all the Australian preorders feature the first "artwork" with the warning "Official artwork TBA" only to have reverse it and have it as the official artwork for the Blu-ray only, Blu-ray combo & 3D versions:

Whether this is on sale or not, come black friday, depends on how well it sells beforehand. And I'm not sure everyone liked this movie. Jurassic park was on sale for $30 on black friday and it was only out for about a month before it was on sale. I'd say you will be able to get this movie for at least $15 and possibly $10. I don't think enough people liked it enough to buy it full price.

Certainly not.
I'm assuming(insert joke here).
But, I figure that this is a newer movie, and the chances that this will be at least on sale for the "week of release price" are acceptable.

I would love to pick it up cheaper... but, as I've said, I can wait for this one.
Either there will be A) a new version down the road, B) a nice sale price for this around the holidays, or C) the price will drop by the time I buy it anyway.

Win-win for me.
