It's really hard to say whether this will be "demo worthy", but I will tell you that I was extremely pleased with the cinematography of this film. I'm sure this film will look stunning on blu.

The 3D edition comes with a 2D copy anyway so either way you will get the deleted scenes.

"I’m intensely proud of the PROMETHEUS disc,” Lauzirika tells Fango. “It’s probably one of the most, if not the most, comprehensive discs I’ve ever done. I’m shocked that we were able to achieve the depth and scope of what we were able to do in the time that we had, which was fraction of what we had on a catalog title like, say, BLADE RUNNER, which goes on for years and years and years. PROMETHEUS we had a few months to get out, but it’s epic.”

While he can’t go into specifics just yet, Lauzirika suggests that there will be some pretty extensive documentary features, the result of a good deal of time spent on PROMETHEUS’ sets and locations. “I was out there for several weeks,” he says. “I’d go for like two weeks at a time, and I would shoot interviews and behind-the-scenes footage. I shot all of preproduction, which was about a year, and I also shot postproduction. Most of the camerawork is mine on that, but I also had another camera operator, Vanessa White, in the UK who shot when I wasn’t there, so we had the whole thing covered, soup to nuts. I didn’t get to go to Iceland [where some of PROMETHEUS’ most remarkable moments were lensed] for that shoot, but Vanessa covered that, and we have amazing footage of Iceland as well.”

Would be a shame if the majority of the extras on the bonus disc were limited to just the 3D release, being so proud of it you would think they would want it on all releases.

Based on the Fangoria piece, Lauzirika finished work on the extras in early July, a couple of weeks before he was interviewed at the Montreal Festival. Around mid August, the BBFC rated the extras. Is that a reasonable time line for the BBFC? Here is that list:

Does this mean you believe all the extras that will be available on the BD and the Bonus Disk will be available on iTunes; or just the extras on the BD? Or are you saying the confirmation of extras on the disk media will coincide with the iTunes release on the 18th?

I believe Fox will announce the final DVD/Blu-ray art and specs next Tuesday, when Prometheus is released for digital download.

i hope this hasn't been asked already, but scrolling through 59 pages seemed funny.

Will there be a difference in the 3D copy and the 2D copy, besides the 3D disc? More special features?

If you have no 3D or short term plans to buy a 3D TV, what is everyone's perspective on buying the 3D version for a reasonable incremental cost?

Transformers: Dark of the Moon was announced to be released on 09/30/11. The announcement came around 09/09/11 (3 weeks before release). It's no new thing for studios these days.
