It's a prequel, so you don't really miss anything. It might be interesting to see Prometheus and then Alien. The Alien sequels don't really matter when it comes to Prometheus. It's really only connected to the first Alien film.

No. It's loosely connected to 'Alien', but there's nothing in that film that you need to know to enjoy 'Prometheus'.

Seems like the cover art for the 3D version has changed. And it is gorgeous! Will the release from Amazon be having this cover art too?

You don't HAVE to, but you would appreciate this much more if you do.

I would recommend you watch prometheus first. That way, you won't have a basis for comparison.

Thanks for sharing that video. As tempting as it is to watch the movie online tomorrow I'll wait until the 3D box set is released. It's not too far away from release.

Honestly, don't set your standards too high. They weren't perfect, but they were entertaining enough for their time. If you can, skip 3 all together. If you watched it, erase it from your memory via Superman laser power.

I disagree. I think the directors cut of Finchers Alien3 was great. Sure it was the balls to the walls guns and explosions of Alien but i thought it was gritty and told a great story. For me Prometheus is what Alien should have been.

So I was scoping out Best Buy online today and I searched for Prometheus in the search engine. Funny enough, there looks to be a DIFFERENT cover that almost looks like a hybrid of the first 3D cover and the most recent one. However, you can only see the picture from the search engine but when you click on the item there is no image available on the page. Is there possibly a lenticular slipcover coming?

The website just hasn't been updated yet, the correct cover for the 3D release is the one that is shown a few posts above mine

Diffinitely like the new 4-Disc 3D cover....as to the Alien Films, I still think Alien holds it own and still remarkable based on it's age. Aliens is a fun, never ending ride that even excites today like it did when it came out in...1986

And speaking of Aliens I found out something on one of the characters I didn't know....

PFC - J. Vasquez, the short-haired tough Spainish chick who carried the hip hugging mchine gun is played by Jenette Goldstien who also played....

Connors Step Mom in Terminator 2
and...
The Irish Mom in Titanic who trys to comfort her two kids in the room with water rising.

I'm sure this has been discussed at length but I can't be bothered going through all the pages to find the answer, but I've noticed that the 3D release contains 3 BD's where as the 2D only release only contains 1BD. Obviously one of the blu-ray's in the 3D release will be the 3D version, but does this mean that the 4 disc set will have a whole blu-ray disc dedicated to special features that the 2D release won't be getting?
I mean like the two releases of Transformers: Dark of the Moon.

I don't particularly want to buy the 3D release since I don't have a 3D tv and the extra money it costs is less than ideal but if it's going to get a whole disc for special features that's exclusive to that release I guess I'll have to get that one.

If anyone knows any information that would be greatly appreciated
