They're just chrome with the reflection of the photographer (makes me wonder about those judging movies by screenshots alone what their monitors are really like).

It's a holster and the bumps are the back of the snaps for the belt.

PeterTHX nailed it.

Hey Bob, for the next day or so I’ll likely be pretty busy all-out catering to my wife to try to eliminate ALL chores that she normally participates in like grocery shopping, cooking, paying the bills, etc. so she can completely rest when she gets home after work as it’s getting pretty *difficult* in my neck of the woods, e.g. - https://www.latimes.com/california/s...nge-county-icu and UCI in Orange is just as bad. Fortunately for patients, they’ve got the field hospital up and running now.

So, if you’re around tomorrow evening or early Jan.1 and have the time, run the numbers for the month of December as it looks like we’ve hauled in > 75,000 views for this thread over just the past week alone - https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...k#post18457773

Should put us upwards of 175,000 views for the month of December.

Sorry Wabs, I called him to label the lay-out to your attention and I guess ‘Waboman’ got garbled over our phone connection and he thought I’d said ‘Waberman’. What can I say, you do your best.
Hey, you and Bob have a common interest –

It's not as good as the TV-led DV processing because it's less specific to the exact capabilities of the display and is more of a generic mapping, but it can still be as good as or better then the internal HDR10 processing of whatever display. As long as the display device can show a 12-bit HDR signal then it can show this spoofed DV output, although projektor owners have needed to put a custom profile on their display IIRC. Not sure too many owners of direct-view flat panel displays have done this yet.
Interesting. Any idea if the 940D could display 12-bit signal? Is this dependent on processing or the panel itself? I thought the ‘output as HDR10’ implied it would be converted to 10-bit? I have too many connections as it is now to the TV so I wasn’t looking to add another, but curious about that now on an informational angle. What I am more interested in, and likely to explore options on, is how to get a good image when I do upgrade to 4K projection. Using SC 4Ks as example, am I left choosing between blocky 4Ks or the remastered BDs, as it is looking like DV isn’t coming to projectors any time soon.

Yes, because having options is bad. We don’t need that DTS stuff when we got that Dolby!

The 940D could do a 12-bit 4K signal in its sleep.

yeah, in a perfect world, all equipment would support all formats. but in this case, it's clear samsung is basically on an island with Hdr10+. doesnt seem like good business sense to me
