Just curious, can anyone confirm that Guardians of the Galaxy 3 is 4K? I thought Marvel was still finishing in 2K for some reason, but the site has it listed as native 4K.

My local cinema only received a 2K DCP

Most VFX pipelines are 2K (because of cost and render time).
GOTGV3 had 3000 VFX shots. So, conventional wisdom says it had to be a 2k post production pipeline.
On the other hand....Post production was 15 months, and they employed many VFX houses...so it is POSSIBLE they did the pp vfx in 4k.

If a movie has a 4K trailer from the distributor, does that usually mean it has a 4K DCP as well?

Supposedly The Suicide Squad and Black Adam were both 4K and those are also VFX-heavy superhero movies, albeit WB/DC and not Disney/Marvel.

Sounds like GOTG 3 might really be 2K only though.
