Yes, I have many with paint chips and small scratches. It's something you learn to deal with if you open steelbooks. I don't tolerate visible dents though or if I catch a spine slash before unwrapping. Those will get returned. But if I open something and see a tiny, hidden ding, I usually just shrug that off to the hazards of collecting.

Well, you got 2 choices, there. I have only used SteelbookCentral, so I can't do a comparison between the 2. Over the past 2 years I've ordered around 50 from them. Only 1 had a blemish (one of the welds was a little overzealous and it required me to pull a corner apart leaving a little spot), but not enough to prevent me from using it. They're sturdy, crystal clear, and easy to use.

I used Blu Steels for several years. then one day I couldn't get my order to go through so I tried SteelBook Central. Now, SteelBook Central has become my go to website when I need protective cases. I found that Blu-Steels cases were a little loose, but SC's cases fit like a glove. They also provide cases for several different types of SteelBook packaging, such as slipcovers and lenti's.

i have a ton of steelshells from blu-steel... i really do like them but...
he just has become a pain to deal with, especially when i had a package lost, i had to file a paypal dispute to get my money back... i use the SCF2 and SCF4s from steelbook central and will buy sizes for reg steels from SBC once i use up my remaining steelshells... |

When it says "snug fit" on the SC2, are we talking "I've gotta tug a bit" to get the steel out or like that of a well fitting slipcover on a normal Blu-ray case?

I would also warn anyone who actually wants to watch their steelbooks that most of them won't easily slide back in either. Not without opening the shell case, as the spine of the steelbook catches on the closed inside flap. |

Well I guess that settles that, for the chance that a film will be handled and watched, the JC3 is the better option, with the little extra space for the Jcard offering an easier slide. Thanks for the input! |

Again, SteelBook Centrals' are the only ones I've used, so I'm not making a comparison, but it is essential you order the correct model for the intended application as they have pretty tight tolerances (which is a good thing). |
