If anyone has a couple of extra SCF2's I would love to buy them off of you. It doesn't make sense to me to pay more for shipping than for the product when ordering from steelbookcentral.
Cheers

On the plus side, I like being able to load from the bottom with a top end j-card. Also, I can insert sticker cutouts top and bottom.

They have 3 larger sizes as well and the nice thing about them is that you can order one each (as opposed to a 10-pk minimum on SBC) to try them out. I also like that they have protectors for standard blus with slips.

Hi there, thanks for the recommendation, I have been looking for something for a while now. Can you please confirm if the case completely encloses the Steelbook? I know sometimes there is one side missing and I wanted full protection.

Thanks!

Has anyone bought and used both steelbook protectors from blu-steels (SteelShell protective Slipcover) and steelbookcentral (SCF1 Fully Enclosed Blu-ray Steelbook Protective Slipcovers? Which one do you prefer better and why? I've been using blu-steels steelshell protective slipcover since they fit perfectly, but having thoughts about trying steelbookcentral's SCF1 since those actually fit the J-card as well. Do the SCF1 fit pretty well like steelshells from top to bottom, except for having more thickness to fit the J-card?

I also saw another member (45Caliber) post about retroprotection's steelbook protector as well. How do the SCF1 compare to this one? Are they about the same? According to the images posted on both sites, it looks like SCF1 has a tighter fit while retroprotection's protector has quite a bit of room at the top for the steelbook to move around. Any input on this would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Hi all! Quick question for those of you who use Steelbook Central:

I got my first order in and am pretty excited. However, is it supposed to be hard to get sealed w/ jcard steels into the SC3 size?

Some of my sealed steelbooks just don't want to fit into this size and others are a very tough fit. I also notice that my UK steelbooks seem to go in pretty easily but some US ones do not.

I had grabbed Star Wars ep 1 sealed and it totally took the shrinkwrap off trying to force it in there (luckily I didn't care too much). But say I couldn't get Antman or Logan to fit either. The US steels definitely cary in random with thanks to the random blobs of glue they use so that cant help.

Well any insight is appreciated. Thanks!

I've used these and they seem to work out fine. You are left with a little room to make the cases easy to insert and remove.

The term "J-Card" is kind of loosely thrown around as the nomenclature of any type of "card" attached to a steelbook. For example there are thin paper cards and thicker cardboard cards. Just a sheet on the back, or a sheet that wraps only around the bottom. Many of the BB exclusive Disney SBs have thick cardboard that wrap around top/back/bottom. With the shrinkwrap I'm thinking they would be nearly impossible to fit in a SC3. I know I tried a few, with no shrinkwrap, and it took quit a while to carefully fit them in a SC3 without damaging the cardboard wrap around.
When I did my first order with SBC I ordered a ton of SC2/SC3 as I know I would use a lot of them, then ordered a handful of larger sizes to see what fit what the best: shrinkwrap vs. no shrinkwrap, slip vs. no slip, etc etc.

Thanks for the reply, and yeah that makes sense. Maybe I should have researched slightly more lol.
I ordered a ton too since shipping to the US is way too expensive and I didn't want to do it again anytime soon
I'll have to maybe look into retro protection or something closer to find some protectors that can fit some of these steelbooks that are too thick. I see a few posts above someone was able to get a good fit on Logan.

Is that the best one can do? $10 for 6 cases seems high.

so newer FullSlip releases from NovaMedia do not fit the SCF2s anymore...
i have both new Kill Bills and John Wick 2 and i had to put them in SCF4s because they all were slightly too tall for the SCF2s...

also, anyone have a recommendation for which Fully Enclosed would work with older BluFans OAB like World War Z or BE Jack Reacher?

JACK REACHER BF is an SCF3
(And that is with an unopened copy)

Am I supposed to peel the plastic film off the Steelbook Central sleeves? The first time I ordered from them, most of the sleeves had clear and stretched out film, and only a few had big wrinkles, so I just never peeled the film off. But this batch they all have giant folds in them.

From their site:

Quote:
These come with a protective film to keep the slipcover in pristine condition, this can be removed before use.
It's up to you. If you're just protecting them to later sell them (i.e. intend to ship them), leave the film on. If you're protecting them and displaying them, I would remove the film.

I just put my opened steels in them and put them on the shelf. I guess it ultimately doesn't matter, but I had left the film on with the first batch, even the less-than-perfect ones. But this batch has the same issue on every single one of them. The film would probably catch and peel off when I pull the steelbook off the shelf.

Why do you want cloudy film on your shells?
It is only there to protect them in transit or before use.
You raw dog that sucker. Take off the condoms.
