Exclamation Not for SteelBooks

I tried the GenesysDTP.com Blu-ray bags. For a SteelBook collector, they are no good. SteelBooks are 14mm without the cardboard slipcover and won't fit in this 12mm bag. Who would want to protect an Amaray case anyway?

RESEALABLE PLASTIC WRAP BLU-RAY SLEEVES

Product Details Stock #: OPPBLURAY
Resealable Plastic Wrap (Mylar-like) Blu-ray Sleeves slip over a standard (12mm thick)
Blu-ray Case replacing the original shrinkwrap.

They keep your Blu-ray Cases from getting damaged, while allowing you to view the contents! For easier insertion, the resealable strip is located on the body of the sleeve, not the flap. These are side-loading, as shown in picture above.

These are clear and measure approximately 5 7/8" x 7 1/4". Resealable flap measures approximately 1 7/16". Of course, does not come with pictured Blu-ray Case.

I was just wondering, what size poly sleeves are needed to protect the metal slips?

Got from here -

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Blu-Ray-DV...item4ab275b460

They might be expensive but they do the job. Its only £5.15 ($8) to me shipped. I am sure getting a whole bunch and sending them over to you won't cost that much. If you want a group buy for the USA i'll talk to the seller and get a crap load for you.

PS - Some of those blu rays (Toy stories) are still sealed from factory. B+TB seems to have a different kind of sleeve, but I think I got them from the same place (notice it doesn't have the strip on the back)

PPS - I am pretty sure cardboard slips don't fit inside the sleeve. Thin paper ones might. Although I collect my cardboard slips in a different place.

PPPS - These are G1 and require a fiddly overlapping technique whilst resealing. Although usually the first crease (if a good one) will allow easy resealing. All my steels have these sleeves and I am happy with them. Not one has split although my mom butchered a couple as she doesn't have a knack for them.

I use the same sleeves from the same supplier.

As richie says, they're not perfect for the job as the G1 size makes the folding of the sealable flap a little awkward, and they can look a little untidy around the corners for the same reason. But they have a nice glossy finish and are durable. I just wish they were available in a G2 size.

The difficult discs are those in cardboard slips, (like the German 'Clash of the Titans') which are just a little too thick to fit in these sleeves. I use the smallest size comic book bags for those, and for jumbo steels.

Anyone purchased these: Item N# 260776949900

Not the cheapest, but you get 100. And seem to be G2 size.

I bought those on Monday, but who knows when they will arrive.

I also bought the ones in richieb's post. I have an idea with those G1 sized envelopes which may stop them from creasing at the sides!

Those look interesting. Maybe someone here can post their impressions/opinion on them when they receive them? The auction notes don't make it clear how thick the poly is.
