That's awesome making your own sleeves. I would love to be able to make one with just one opening at the top so you can just slide them in. I am sure you could do that as well pretty easily.

I use the sleeves from protected.de. Sure they have opening at top & bottom, but they are very snug & the SB won't slip out. I simply put a strip of felt on my shelves to stop any possible scuffing.....much easier to me.

Nice job on your custom sleeves though.

"Very snug" is great to keep them from sliding out and hitting the ground if you aren't careful, but I assume it will not accept a slipcover? Any vertical wear marks from sliding in and out?

By the way, protected.de also sells in larger quantities at a discount on eBay (protectedgmbh).

No, I've not seen any wear marks at all. There is not enough space for a slipcover to fit inside.

I would expect these to ship squashed flat, and I wonder if there is a problem with "memory" developing, with the result that they are always lopsided, leaning to one side?

If that is not a problem, then I would expect these to be the best presentation for protecting a steel, and I'll buy a bunch because I'm going to eventually open all these steels I've been binging on for the last month!

X-Men Trilogy similar sleeve

Yes, they are shipped flat. You simply bend the sleeves on the other 2 corners prior to using. The plastic stock is fairly thick, there is no memory or leaning.

Default Looks incredible, FastFish

That picture got me so excited, I went to the eBay tab and hit the buy-it-now button, and now I have to contact the seller for a shipping price.

Unless they've changed their rates they are really expensive. I remember that they wanted 34 Euros to ship six packs. Considering that six packs basically take up no more space than a SteelBook and weigh slightly more it was crazy they wanted that much.

I can highly recommend the actual sleeves. I have them on all my Steels and they look great and protect them very well:

Instead of buying them through Protected.de or eBay I've simply asked German members I've been trading with to buy some and ship them on to me. Far more cost effective.

Yeah, I asked for a quote as well and that's the same price to ship to NZ. It's a bit prohibitive, unfortunately.

P.S. Nice collection!

Default Whoa!

50 sleeves: EUR 29,95 + 22,22 shipping = 52,17

Seller accepted my request to cancel the transaction.

Can someone help me with this question please. At least if it isn't tape what are you using to keep the sheets together.
