Just got my steelbook Steelshells in the mail today via blu_steels on ebay. They're good quality, I'm happy with them. I'll definitely order more once I run out.

if you mean the flexible plastic ones i thought they were useless. They send them flat and you have to fold in the sides or just one side depending which type you get and they were just mis-shaped.I've stuck with the thinner wrapper style ones.

hmm, mine fit just fine. And folding the sides takes all of 5 seconds. I like them because they're a heavier slipcover.

I don't know why anyone would want to display a sealed steelbook anyway? Looks ugly
I have a few, like LOTR that I will not be watching since I have the extended versions that I will keep sealed. Are you doing a video on the new movie style slips showing sealed movies in them? Will you be showing the G1's also?

Got some hard slips in a trade recently. Not sure what kind they are, two of them are open on both the spine and the opening side, and the other only has one side open and they folded surface on the other side.

I like the one that was only one side open, but I don't know if I like how the other side as the folded tabs. Granted it's on one of the least look that parts of the steelbook, but I am just wondering this one exists that's just solid on all sides

That wouldn't be very practical since you couldn't fold them up.

Practical to ship, certainly not. But would it look sharp? You better believe it.

Either way, like I said, the folded side ends up on the opening side of the steelbook and not the spine, so it's not like I'm admiring the opening side.

FYI - Got a new and improved steel sleeve from Movie Style and it fits sealed steelbooks much better than the older version! Tried it on one of the newer Taiwan releases, the German Lenticular Hobbit, and Wreck-it Ralph Blufans and they all worked great.

Sure

I got a sample from a Group Buy (Bidou from HDN)

Sleeves are a reasonable price but shipping kills it if you have to order a lot.

USA Movie style

I have used the movie style ones as well. And the price is great. They fit the steelbooks much better now. I don't think shipping is too unreasonable. A little higher than other places but they come in a very sturdy box and come on time. They tell you 7-14 days and they have always gotten to my mail box in 7 days. Also, if you like to protect your slipcovers they fit the American style which is 12 mm i think, nicely. With a little space for movement. And I believe that the European ones are 14mm i think so they might be a little snug but not impossible to get out. I have also written there customer service and have received prompt replies. Which in my book is a big plus.

I was basing the shipping comment on a large order. The shipping charge for me was more than the cost of the sleeves

Holy crap! How many we're you getting at a time. I think the most I've shipped to Michigan at a time was 50.

I was really just seeing how many packs it would take to apply for the 5 off 50 offer. I think I had to put in 17 packs.

I don't think I would need quite that many for my sealed steels

Opened ones may be another story...

Just fishing a little bit, but is anyone in the US interested in getting some of the shells from blu-steels.com (the German version)?

I want to get some for my open steels (polybags are starting to annoy me) and the cheapest way to get them is to order a large quantity. Like 420... if you order that many, they work out to 90 cents a piece. Compare that to a 140 order at $1.08 per sleeve or 65 piece at $1.15 per sleeve.

PM me and if there's enough interest, I'll probably start a Group Buy thread and we can track the number people want in there.

Thanks!
