If you click on the link & scroll to the questions & answers it says they close on all sides...looks to me like they have flaps at both ends like scf1..,I think I'll order & have a look.

They look fully enclosed to me. What pics are you looking at?

They have flaps on the top and bottom. They seal pretty nice, no accidents waiting to happen. They're like the plastic cases, that the Game Of Thrones steelbooks, come in. I'm very happy with them. Very reasonably priced. I will order more.

That's funny because the product descriptions says that it encloses the top and bottom and only one side (preferably the spine).

Yeah...you're correct...just checked...then it says fully enclosed & in the questions & answers says twice enclosed on all sides! I ordered a set of 6...will arrive on Monday & I'll let everyone know what's what.

I would like to see someone compare these to SteelBookCentral's.

They open on top and the bottom. The steelbook is completed enclosed and protected. If you have any of the Game of Thrones steelbook sets, the ones with the magnets in the center, those plastic slips are similiar to these.

But what are the sizes? Or are they just one size?
Steelbook Central covers every size steelbook from SCF1 to SCF4 to S6 Jumbo (with new sizes coming).
But I would consider these if they are a savings (even if they just for one size steelbook).

I'm having a hard time deciding which protective sleeves to buy. I was hoping someone could help me choose which ones to go with. I'm looking to buy around 100+ and want to keep them the same.

I've compiled a list of sites that I've found:
http://www.steelbookcentral.com/stee...overs-13-c.asp

http://www.videogameboxprotectors.com/store/4569532134

http://www.blu-steels.com/

http://www.filmarena-eng.com/prislusenstvi/
Please add to the list if you know of more than this.

I purchased 12 from blu-steels.com already and I like them. But they are a bit pricey and take a long time to receive them. I had to wait about a month.
Shipping to Western Canada.

You're protecting open/unsealed steelbooks?

I like the videogamebox ones myself. They've been the clearest plastic IMO and the cheapest fully enclosed option to US (since they are in US most likely ). I don't know what their shipping to Canada would be though.

The blu-steel ones are nice for bare steels, but like you said, their service is almost always awful. We got lucky on our GBs that we had for them

Thanks for your input.

I was about to order from videogamebox but the shipping charges are atrocious and was about 1/3 of the cost. For 100 it came to $98.50 USD. For me that'll be about $130 CDN. Which in the end worked out to be about the same cost as Blu-steels. I'm assuming the wait time from videogamebox is much better though?

Yeah, I was afraid of that

I would assume you'd get them quicker from VGB

Would there happen to be a protective case for digibooks?

Matt at Steelbook Central is investigating that topic.
Mediabooks/Digibooks vary in sizes, so he said he needs input to make a decision on the feasibility of having a case/cases for them.

Why not just make your own?

I remember an old thread where you can just buy the plastic sheets and fold your own protective covers to whatever size you need.

That's what I would do if I was into that sort of thing.

If you had some of these cases, you would realize that that is impossible.
They have locking tabs, etc.
Not something you can Jerry-rig. And even if you did, odds are it would look like exactly like an amateur job. Pay the money, get the real deal.

Well, to be honest, I think an o-ring is all that would be necessary for protection and that would be relatively simple to make on your own.

Sure, you can make an O-ring. But, that is just an accident waiting to happen, when your beloved steelbook slides out of the bottom and bangs onto the floor when you get it it off the shelf.
