The early Bond movies also had more quick hand - to - hand combats and less gunfights like From Russia With Love and On Her Majesty's Secret Service. Bond got less physical with the casting of Roger Moore (and continued with Brosnan) because Bond was played by a less physical actor than Connery/Lazenby and now Craig.
Thanks for the info. I was actually comparing Bourne to the more recent Brosnan Bond's, which I'm more familiar with. I've only seen a couple Connery and Moore Bond's years ago. I appreciate you clearing it up though .

No prob. If you are looking at the more recent Brosnan films, I understand where you are coming from. I think too many people compare the Craig films to the Bourne films because of that fact. They forget the first couple Bond films. Check out Dr.No, From Russia With Love and On Her Majesty's Secret Service. The Living Daylights with Timothy Dalton is also one of my favorites and you can clearly see how the roof top chase is influenced by that movie (Bourne is more similar to TLD than QOS is to Bourne).

I thought the pq was pretty good. Where did you see it as not being perfect?
Some scenes were just overly grainy I know I know directors intensions but I like the clean look of Casnio Royale's Blu

Influenced, it's more than that. Both rooftop chases were filmed in Tangiers.

So I rewatched this movie and thought it was definitely better the second time around, but still it seemed like they were trying to add too much too fast to the movie IMO. It does have a good story but it kinda jumbles everything around throughout the movie. Maybe it is just me but it tries to be too intelligent in a non-intelligent way. And the plane scene was over the top as well. I am still holding off buying the movie currently unless I can find it as a really good price, Daniel Craig does an awesome job in this movie I just feel the script and director kinda of took away from what could've been a step beyond what Casino Royale did.

I liked the movie and got used to all the quick cuts and frantic editing after I got into the story. I do think Craig is the best Bond since Connery. I've only watched it once but plan on pulling out my copy this weekend for another viewing.

Too bad the best track, crawl, end crawl by four tetl isn't on the OST. That's the last instrumental song you hear at the end credits. PM me if you're in need of it.

You have good taste. OHMSS, Thunderball, Casino Royale and (oddly enough) Licence to Kill are my favs, with Moonraker, MWTGG, and most of the Brosnans at the bottom. And like you, I did find Quantum much better the second time around, but even so it's a weak entry in the overall Bond pantheon.

That's a bit of a stretch if you ask me. As much as I really enjoyed this flick, there were a lot of really good movies in '08. For me Quantom was a great follow-up to Casino. I think a lot of you out there that don't like it are having a tough time with the fact that its a direct sequel, maybe it should've been called Casino Royale 2. It does a great job putting an end to things that were left unanswered in Casino and is still left open for another direct sequel IMO. I wouldn't be surprised to see Olga Kurylenko make an appearance in the 3rd film when it comes out. Sure its not the best Bond film by a long shot, but you wouldn't watch Frellowship of the Ring and Return of the King without Two Towers, would you?
