![]() The Sony Preliminary sheet says it has 4 (BNC) SDI inputs. I know there are HDMI to SDI adapters available but do not know if any have HDMI with HDCP complaint inputs. I feel fairly certain none with HDMI 2.0 with HDCP 2.2 complaint inputs are available. |

Just found that whilst doing a search on DTS X it's nothing but some might be interested. It made me wonder if we will see a change of connector on the Ultra BD players, I can't see it happening but I would be a but more comfortable if HDMI would see an upgrade before launch. How would HDMI 2.0 handle HDR? |

That's all well and good from SI, but seeing how the 9777 (600 MHz + HDCP 2.2) still seems to be as rare as rocking horse poo I don't think they should be crowing about the achievements of the 9779.
It's been added to their site anyway: http://www.siliconimage.com/solutions/tv/ |

HDMI 2.0 becomes more of a limiting factor for HFR (100 fps and above) and 8K rez content. |

In any case, 4K tvs from 2014 that included the HDMI 2.0 should be sufficient for the next several years for 99% of the content that gets released. |

$300 for streaming only players that have very limited capabilities and a limited UltraFlix. Then you have the Sony FMP-X10 for a mere $ 699.99. At least it can download content and stream from Netflix. Supposed to get Amazon sometime this spring. I will be very interest in what OPPO does in regards to a UHD BD player. FWIW: in 2006 paid > $1000 for my Panasonic DMP-BD10. Built like a tank and slow as molasses ![]() |

The first player will probably be a Panasonic, and I wouldn't be surprised to see it at $500. Sony might also surprise us and get one to market quickly as well, since they seem to be going full tilt toward 4K more than any other company. |
