I guess with Journey there is the previous sold out edition plus the cheap Australian alternative dampening sales.
For horror titles I can definitely see a need for 5,000 copies or possibly even more but it doesn't seem to be needed for any other genre.
It's not like their goal with releases is for them to be sold out in the first month, barely any of the 3000 ones did and very few of those seem to have provoked as "they made way too many of these!" reaction. I bet both of these will still sell out way faster than virtually anything. If they sell the extra 2000 even two years late, it was worth it.

11 copies of Bell, Book, and Candle remain at SAE. Get it now if you want it.

If it makes anyone feel better, my $87 three-disc TT sale order, plus a CD, made on March 28th is still pending. Does it bother me? No, I'm in no hurry.

By the way, at SAE, JOURNEY and FIRST MEN are numbers two and three on the "Top Weekly Titles" list. I have a feeling both will sell-out by the end of April or middle of May, with FIRST MEN selling out first.

Regarding THE ONLY GAME IN TOWN.... a lousy movie, avoid it.

It's incredible to me that of all the films that Liz Taylor starred in they would choose this one to put out on blu-ray and almost none of her great, worthwhile films. Aside from this I think only Giant and Cleoptara are available on blu so far

If anyone wants The Bounty, I am selling it for $28 shipped. Let me know.

As to the subject of their recent sale... I completely missed out on it. I wish I hadn't but hopefully they will have another one next year (or sooner?) and I can pick some up then. Granted, there are certain titles I don't expect to ever be put on sale.

Not the same my friend. When I started buying blu-rays, I knew that for money reasons, I had to draw the line somewhere. I decided that I would not buy foreign films that just had English subtitles. But when movies that had Catherine Deneuve came out on Blu-ray, I broke my own rule and bought a few. It is true that there are so many beautiful women actors that if this were your only interest , one could go broke quickly.

Yep, this movie is really lousy. The opening minute or two showing location footage of the old Las Vegas is great, seeing all the old marquees and signage, but after that and it goes inside and the film proper starts, it's total bland drama snoozeville for the entire haul.

If you have Rollerball to sell, I might be interested.

The one I really, really want is Taming of the Shrew with Richard Burton directed by Franco Zefferelli. That movie is a delicious feast from one end to the other.

Any chance of The Hound of the Baskervilles or 3 Worlds of Gulliver being announced this Saturday?

I knew Baskervilles was in the works but were they also talking about doing Gulliver?

No, everyone has just assumed it cause it's logical that they'd have it based on what other Harryhausens they've released.

I just watched Leave it to Heaven. I was very impressed with it. The best thing about it was that even though it's ostensibly about a very, very bad lady, the first half of the movie bothers to make you understand her intentions. Her husband has got to be one of the biggest idiots in noir history, which is saying something when you compare him to similarly naive ne'er-do-wells like Holly Martin. He is just infuriatingly oblivious to everything he's doing wrong, and I like that they make his little brother somewhat obnoxious as well. Of course she eventually goes wayyyy beyond the pale, but her character was a lot more developed and justified than I was thinking it would be. Great flick both from a character standpoint and from a visual standpoint, it's a little bit like a faded photograph but is still very vibrant and there's a ton of gorgeous scenery. The incredible amount of makeup on the leads whenever they're in close-up also gives it a strange surreal feeling, the male lead looked a lot to me like the guy in the famous rationing poster (see spoiler), he looked totally unreal, all lines and complexion were completely removed!

[Show spoiler]

It was also odd seeing Vincent Price in a dramatic role, he spoke with what sounded like a forced boomier voice, but maybe that's just how he sounded when he was younger. I need to watch "Laura" one of these days, I've had the bluray for years and never got around to it.

I've always found the rowboat scene extremely disturbing, in a way almost grand guingnol and very hard to watch

She's in Jane Eyre (the 1946 version), albeit uncredited and very briefly.

She's also in this (not a TT title), but I assume it's again a brief role like a guest star or something:
(according to PowellPressburger this screenshot is a spoiler for the film, so open it at your own risk! (it's just a screenshot from the bluray.com review though))
