Didn't say it was a bad deal. I would just think most people would spend the extra $5 for a brand new copy. Now shipping cost can make a difference and of course all three for $60 is a good deal. I have two of the three. Saw American Buffalo on TCM a few months back and was not impressed at all with it.

As long as a Blu is in Like New condition, I don't mind if it's "used" - and especially with collector-market releases such as Twilight Time titles - most people selling a used one probably only watched it once and simply didn't like the film. And Blus are hard to scratch. This isn't like a mass-market DVD release where Joe Blow and his mama watched a disc a million times and left pizza stains and scratches on it and poured Mountain Dew on the cover. And I've received probably more damaged-cover brand-new Blu's from Amazon than any used ones I've bought, but I rarely have an issue either way.

Like today for example. I want to get U Turn and The Bounty but instead of paying right now, I will wait until the next promo and get them then. Now if I wasn't sure when the next promo may be, I would order them today. For those of us who keep up daily with this blu ray forum, I would think virtually all of us would wait for the promo to buy the next group of blu's. Those who don't visit the forums and don't know the monthly promo sale, are the people who would buy one or two today. Then of course there's what you can afford. Many may not be able or want to pay $127 every month. If you know this, then you wouldn't wait. It just seems to me that TT would want their customers thinking about buying their product every day instead of just one day in a month. But, with the promo, many buyers end up buying more than they planned to get that free signed copy. That must be good enough for TT. |

As of now, here are the titles I could see myself buying. 1. State of Grace 2. The Young Lions 3. Night of the Generals 4. Hombre 5. The Bounty 6. U Turn 7. Solomon and Sheba 8. Breaking Away 9. Bunny lake is Missing 10. The Man from Laramie 11. The Other 12. The Fabulous Baker Boys 13. Places in the Heart 14. Guess who's coming to dinner? So that's only half and who knows if one or more of these will be the signed freebie? And there's the sold out temptation. So far, the sold out titles I've purchased were movies I wanted anyway. But I will be tested when a title comes up with 30 copies left and I'm not interested in the movie. |

If you mean the next group of titles, TT announces 2 months of releases every other month. Last set of announcements (for July/August) were on April 11th, so the September/October announcement will be around that date in June.

Every time there is a new announcement, I nearly cry because I can't believe how quickly the two months have gone by.

Since Twilight Time has access to some Columbia Picture titles, I wish they would rescue Daniel Petrie's 1974 "Buster & Billie". A terrific lost movie starring Jan-Michael Vincent in his prime, Pamela Sue Martin and Robert Englund in his first film. About a preppie in the '40's who falls for a girl "from the wrong side if the tracks" doesn't even have a DVD release.
