Interesting, so is Bowie's appearance basically just a glorified cameo?

I really want Bite the Bullet, Breaking Away, Young Lions and Mississippi Burning. Hope they last a good long while. Seems like the ones selling out (other than the Sci Fi ones) are the ones from the first year. Wonder how many Bite the Bullets are left.

Since it hasn't appeared on the LQA list yet, there should be more than 500 left.

I just pulled the trigger on...

The Young Lions
Absolute Beginners
Mississippi Mermaid

Of all of these, I'm most intrigued by Mississippi Mermaid, because Belmondo is coolness personified, and Deneuve is always amazing.

David Bowie is my favorite artist, and that was my main reason for hitting Absolute Beginners, but it also looks like a fun 1980s flick.

The Young Lions is a total blind buy, but the strength of the cast cannot be denied, and I like the synopsis.

Since I returned from Africa less than a month ago I decided to finally order the following since I hadn't ordered anything from Twilight Time in awhile: The Young Lions, State of Grace, Mississippi Burning, Mississippi Mermaid, Carla's Song, Stormy Weather, Lenny, A Man for All Seasons, The Night of the Generals, To Sir with Love, The St. Valentine's Day Massacre, Hombre, and Love and Death.

Kino have just announced DVDs of Lilies of the Field and I Want to Live! for October, so it's probably safe to say that Blu-rays are coming from Twilight Time at some point.

Default Autographs on blu-rays

I'm not sure where to ask this question, but since Twilight Time provides autographed blu-rays as promotions, I'm hoping this is an okay place. I also asked in the "Collectibles" forum, but not sure how much traffic they get over there, so am asking here too.

My question: Is there a preferred place where a blu-ray should be autographed for some reason ... whether the autograph is on the booklet or the front cover or back cover or maybe even the disc itself? (Although I imagine the disc itself would be frowned on for playability reasons down the road).

(Thank you)

The autographs seem to be usually on the back booklet margin which I like since it doesn't interfere with any artwork. Pamela Franklin did sign on the front bottom corner of the book but in the case of the design there it worked perfectly. I think Pat Boone signed the original 'Journey to the center of the Earth' right on the disc if I remember correctly

Actually, I think Boone signed the clear plastic on the front of the case, but I wasn't able to get one so not 100% sure.

That wouldn't be a bad title for TT - it's silly but very enjoyable and has a great John Barry score that would be ideal for an isolated score.

My memory is telling me that Hanover Street came out a few months after Star Wars. As a remake, it wasn't likely to burn up the box office, even in a non-Star Wars year....

Try two years after. And it wasn't a remake, though it was an ill-fated attempt to make a 40s-style wartime romance on a big budget complete with real bombers and a big street set built for an air raid sequence. Harrison Ford and LesleyAnne Down were late replacements for original stars Kris Kristofferson and Genvieve Bujold, who would have seemed much more out of place.

Thank you, you are right. For some reason in my recollection of seeing it online 3 years ago I was picturing the disc

Yes, it was two years in May of 1979. After Star Wars, Ford appeared in Heroes and then Force 10 From Naravone in 1978 before making Hanover Street.

My guess is that the signs we've seen with other retailers are going to continue. Someone else pointed out that warehouse space at SAE is likely a problem. Let's face it, TT has outgrown them.

I expect that SAE will still get first dibs on the initial releases and promo autographed titles, but other retailers like Amazon, Deep Discount, B&N, TCM will be getting a lot of the secondary market.

That could mean lower prices, no more big shipping costs, and quicker shipping. It could also mean titles sell out faster since they'll get more exposure through other retailers. If it isn't on Amazon, a lot of people simply don't know that a Blu-Ray exists.
Anyone hear anything about this mysterious end of month announcement?

The first time I saw HANOVER STREET, I thought it was a really bad movie....until I listened to the Peter Hyams commentary in which he said the movie was an homage to the World War II movies made in the 1940s. The movie and its corniness made more sense after that.
One particular negative in the movie to me is the friction between Harrison Ford and his commanding officer, Shane Rimmer.
I have the Varese Sarabande soundtrack of HANOVER STREET---it's one of those scores that is better than the movie.

Thank you very much for the response. The reason I asked is because I was at a show today where Caroline Munro was signing autographs. (http://www.ocomiccon.com) Just got back.

I brought my Golden Voyage of Sinbad blu-ray with me. I asked Ms. Munro where people usually have it signed and she replied on the cover, so that was good enough for me. She was also selling At the Earth's Core (among other merchandise), so I bought that one too ... with an autograph.
