especially since it is a limited item. Personally I could really care less (as I stopped ordering from them a long time ago) other than pointing out the fact that some people are being done wrong and they should be called out on it. And if it turns out that this is the case and an unfair practice is going on everyone should be up in arms about it because the next time it just might be you.

now moving on to the next topic

While I'm happy to be getting my order, I'd be rightly miffed if I had my order canceled after getting it in first.

I didn't think SAE fulfilled their orders out of sequence but if it's true that's a terrible business model. I don't understand what the motivation could be? I've never had any issue with the orders I have placed with them in the past (I also don't wait to order movies I really want from them) but just knowing they don't fulfill orders sequentially leaves a very bad taste in my mouth.

It's not TT but SAE which is a separate company.

NO, SAE most certainly is not. After nearly five years of ordering from them every single month for blu-rays and soundtracks, I have had only five or six shipping delays on my orders of more than a week. They are a great group of folks who I will order from with confidence every time. I do not know all of the mysteries of their system of shipping priority beyond the fact that not all the titles arrive at the same time at their location from the pressing plant. They will hold an order until all discs are in hand, then ship everything together.

They fill ALL of their orders. If mine ships after someone who ordered after me, it doesn't bother me. Personally I have more important worries than to stress or moan about my movie order taking a few extra days to ship, especially when I do not know the reason for it and don't care. I trust they will do right by me every time. Unless you live overseas and have to clear customs, the odds are high you will get your order rapidly once out the door. And what you will get is the best packaged order in the business. SAE has had a few growing hiccups on occasion, but have learned from those experiences and made improvements.

This time last year they had a back up of a couple of weeks on their orders during the TT sale due to a larger amount of order volume than expected, and I also recall there was a large storm that shut everything down for days right as orders were going out. Sh*t happens. If someone wants to continually post in this thread with exaggerated alarm about how SAE is the most lame company ever because his order during that time was late, take it for what it is worth considering the nature of many of the posts here. We heard it loud and clear the first time, the second time, the third time.....now it is just trolling. SAE is what it is. A small business. They are not Amazon, nor do they advertise themselves as such. Can we please just move on.

All valid points. Small company. Limited resources.
The question is why my order (and others) are cancelled when subsequent orders are honored. My problem is not about shipping/processing speed.
The constant complaining about TT's model is old and tired and I'm sure the complaints about SAE are even more tired. I've been a happy and fulfilled SAE shopper until yesterday.
But WHY does this practice exist? It's a legitimate question. And it's not bashing.
Hard to move on when problems arise from a company who is dealing the items we come here to talk about....

You have a good point and I can sympathize. However, you won't find the answer to that question here. I would suggest contacting them via email or their facebook page. It may not be what you think - that an order placed later was honored while yours was canceled - maybe something else happened. They oversold The Blob and had to cancel last minute orders when that got down to less than 50 remaining out of 5000.

My question to those who have had this happen with SAE is....why in the world would you wait until it got so low to order? Not trying to minimize what occurred or the fact you missed out because they oversold and canceled you. That sucks. I suspect there were a lot of orders coming in right at the end. If you want a title, don't let it get to below a hundred to finally place an order. Those last ones go fast. Let this be a lesson to anyone who waits a month (The Blob) to order at the last second, or for JTTCOTE which was available for just over a year.

So basically sweep the bad practice under the rug? Gotcha...

If it's not first come first serve on a limited item then it's a very flawed system and hopefully one they will revamp. Waiting until the last minute has nothing to do with your argument. Admit it it's a flawed email/order system they are using for the type of business model they are running. My friend did send them an email and also reported them to the BBB. The only lesson to be learned here is that if you wait too late and miss out it's on you but if they are not taking orders in turn it's on them.

Just preordered Julia & 3 empty clear cases.

Needed one to put my Used Cars in. Wish they let you just buy one bc there isnt really anything else in their back catalog that I want except The Train and since that would have to be a re-release it would be in a clear case anyway lol

Well played Twilight Time...well played!

Preordered Cutter's Way and Chato's Land. I'm usually not a cheapskate but $66 for a couple of movies really does feel obscene. I had some money in my Paypal account so that softened the blow but man that's a lot of money.

In Canada those movies would cost us $90! Be thankful all of these distributors are in the US. In Canada it's impossible to keep up on all these limited edition exclusives from Twilight Time, Code Red, Scorpion, etc.

I don't get the point of someone whining about the occasional shipping issues with a company that they don't even order from anymore.

That's why I'm much more selective about what I order, so I'm less likely to take a chance on a blind buy.

Out of all the reissued movies... are there any additional features or better transfers?

which ones are better than the original release... and are they worth a double dip?

THUNDERBOLT AND LIGHTFOOT (1974) Encore Edition
ROLLERBALL (1975) Encore Edition
BIG HEAT
MYSTERIOUS ISLAND
JTTCE

am i missing any reissues?

You're missing Fright Night and The Blob.

The Big Heat and Mysterious Island have more supplements; the latter had its encode tweaked so it's marginally superior.

Journey to the Center of the Earth is the most notable upgrade when it comes to A/V quality and it has a boost in the extras department.

I have the original release of both of these... guessing not worth the double dip

There was no re-release of the Blob.

Wasn't the Blob just a one-time larger quantity release? Also, didn't TT mention they had no plans to do any other re-releases?
