sorry, but that is wishful thinking. eBay's recent 'sold' results shows that 37 copies have moved. I think that is within the last 60 days, but I'm not certain of the range.

You don't even have to be region free... the Aussie releases are not locked.

if there is continued demand, TT can capitalize on that be releasing it a third time. if they put out 3000 more copies, then demand would go down and therefore the "scalpers" would get nipped in the bud.
Twilight Time have indicated that they no longer plan on releasing encore editions due to complaints from customers upset that their limited editions are no longer "limited". Whether this was a knee-jerk statement on Twilight Time's part or not remains to be seen. If they could sell out another batch of 3000 or 5000 that would be great for them but Fright Night has been released elsewhere and they'd be stretching things a bit thin with a third release. If they could get their hands on any number of other 80s horror or even re-release the Blob, that would be better.

oh, okay. thanks for your post.

in that case, it sweetens the sales for third party sellers.

edit : On further thought, (and I know that the two groups aren’t necessarily one and the same,) TT buyers can’t really have it both ways. If one complains about “exclusivity,” then is that person not arguing for the inherent value that goes along with a limited release. …and if that value exists, then such titles are going to demand more money in a marketplace like eBay - which brings me to those who complain about “scalpers.” Again, the two may not be part of the same Venn diagram, but I don’t think that one can have it both ways.

You're human, besides all your constant work far outweighs one mistake. I, for one appreciate having that first post as a reference site, I go to often.

Big day today, 3 titles in my sights, and a 10% off code from back in July !

No, you're not wrong. And those of us who post on this thread more frequently are used to this argument. I don't see too many posts here from people complaining about re-releases devaluing their purchases (if it is, it's usually not a "regular") but you never know what Twilight Time receive on Facebook or other communication avenues. Who knows, it may only take one or two complainers to get under their skin to make them say it's not worth it. I mean they've TRIED to change elements of their "encore" editions so that at least the original releases are unique in some way (a different extra, new cover art, etc.) but I suppose for some that isn't enough.

Most of the people I see on this thread seem to be of the opinion that the more available a film is the better and that re-releases are a good thing if it's a popular title that sells out like hotcakes. Maybe it's just me, but I think those of us with upwards of 100 or so Twilight Time titles who actually purchase things like Rapture or Swamp Water should have more influence than someone who just buys a couple copies of Fright Night and nothing else.

God I wish they were able to re release Christine. I didn't even know about twilight time back then so I completely missed out and apparently it sold out super quick regardless

The Sony release is available and is only missing the exclusive Twilight Time isolated score. That would be the only reason now to want it.

But if you live the US, Best Buy has the Sony release for $10 regular price. Every now and again they offer either a Buy 1 get 1 free sale or some other promotion. I don't see any reason to pay $20 more plus shipping & handling for the isolated score unless that feature is truly important to you.

That's interesting. One reason for TT to cave to those griping about the limited editions not being truly limited would be TT being able to maintain their $30 price tag for something considered special, rare, unique, whatever... but the going rate on eBay for OOP titles certainly puts that theory to sleep.

Maybe they feel it could damage the brand as a whole.

I don't understand the logic behind it.

None of those will sell out during pre-orders. I doubt any of those titles will sell out in the next year.

Nothing....only Christine and Night of the Living Dead/sold-out during pre-orders. Other than that, fastest sell-out has been a couple of weeks I believe, and those were horror titles (The Blob, etc). Even the fastest moving non-horror/cult titles take several months to sell out.

My bet would be on Hush, Hush Sweet Charlotte being the fastest seller of this bunch.

Well, that's not true. Christine and Night of the Living Dead both sold out during the pre-order stage. The Train's initial release sold out about a month after its release date. Gauging by people's posts, I'm pegging Runaway Train as the most popular of this month's titles and even then it's already been released by Arrow in Region B.

I placed an order for Hush...Hush, Sweet Charlotte and Runaway Train.

I'm on the fence about The Chase, but I figure that it will be around for several months.

Preorders are up on TT's site.

Preordered Boxcar Bertha, Hush Hush Sweet Charlotte, and Runaway Train.

The Chase is being added to my "purchase during future sale" list... where it joins House of Bamboo, Garden of Evil, The Panic in Needle Park, and Tony Rome/Lady in Cement.
