I picked up the Virgin Soldiers from the sale. It's the best price it's been offered thus far.

I don't remember where I read it, but was it rumored that TT would release Flight of the Phoenix sometime in the near future?

Has Baby the Rain Must Fall been pushed back? The release date was set for May 21, just four weeks from now, but there's still been no cover art or specs released. Not that I'm expecting a lot in the way of bonus features, of course, but I thought we'd see at least a cover by now.

Kind of tempted to get the Elvis one, not sure about anything else. Take a Girl Like You seems to have a better disc from another company, but I might get it since 15 bucks is probably much cheaper.

TT claimed years ago that they didn’t have it and that it was with another label.

Fox is releasing their own edition this week in Germany (should you not be region free):

Well, if Fox is releasing it in Germany maybe we'll see it here from somebody in the near future. I need to go region free, but my old Oppo BDP 83 is a good player and I just haven't looked around enough for either a region free player or a kit to convert mine over.

The German release will most likely be playable in all regions... the recent German release of Those Magnificent Men In Their Flying Machines by Fox was all regions.

Eureka's Masters of Cinema has a good Region B release:

You're probably right. I've purchased some German releases that were labeled zone B and 2 on the box and even on the discs and were still zone free! We'll just have to wait for somebody to report.

It should be region free. The only country that Fox still region locks their discs is Japan (it’s no big deal for NA folks since NA and Japan are Region A).

Yes, but the example I provided of Those Magnificent Men In Their Flying Machines was actually marked A-B-C, it wasn't a case of it being a B title that happened to be playable in A.

As a general rule of thumb though, titles released by the actual studios are usually playable in all regions. I would be very surprised if Flight of the Phoenix is not marked A-B-C on the back.

Twilight Time,

Any chance of HONDO in 3D? Bound to be a sell-out title.

Home Theater Forum has an interesting discussion regarding this film.

Maybe it's time to make a call.

Thanks for considering.

Probably not. The only Warner-owned title that TT ever released was "Heaven & Earth" and that was primarily pushed by Oliver Stone himself.

Hondo is actually owned by Paramount now. Still makes it unlikely for a TT release though.

Isn't Hondo, Paramount? Every release has came from them.

Ah, I don't know anything about the film and I saw WB on the poster so I assumed.

I think HONDO is owned by the John Wayne estate.

I thought Hondo was a bio-pic about Boston Celtics great John Havlicek.

I once heard that John Wayne was really 5'7 and stuffed his boots with cardboard to appear taller.
