I was told by someone at Criterion that all their packaging is put together by hand. So for these type of small companies it's probably just a case of people handling a lot of discs one after another and accidentally having a slip of their hand and touching one. I'm sure they are careful in general.

All of my SAE orders have shipped... and although TT hasn't yet cancelled any of my items from my unshipped 5/10 and 5/12 orders, I'm seeing the "out of stock" or "no longer for sale" messages on many of them, so I'm starting to wonder if I should just order any remaining items from SAE, given that titles are now being cancelled from TT orders, and they're shipping orders out of order.

SAE still has 19 titles I ordered from TT, while 3 I ordered from TT are no longer available at SAE.

Decisions, decisions...

So I just got an email about 15 minutes ago letting me know Snake In An Eagle’s Shadow would not be in my order and they are refunding me; even though I put in an order in the early morning hours of the 10th. I know I am beating a dead horse in this thread but that is a little ridiculous to me. How can people who are ordered later possibly getting this title when others who ordered earlier get the shaft. I work for a small t-shirt company part time and we ship every order in numeral order that way, if you ordered something when you were suppose it and it went out of print later that day; you will get it and others who waited miss out. Also, with these emails going out 10 days later or so now; we have missed opportunities to get these titles that we aren’t going to have in our orders for elsewhere/or the prices now for certain titles are jacked up on eBay. Again, sorry to beat a dead horse on this thread but I am vastly disappointed now just for me but for others on this thread as well.

Problem with that is this a liquidation sale and many people who wanted these titles had every chance in the world to get these titles. Plus, everyone knew the writing was on the wall with TT for a long time. Also, if we wanted to make sure everyone would have a chance why not then limit it to just 1 copy and no second copies?

They also encouraged bulk buying with their "Bulk Purchase Discount." But the part that still doesn't make sense to me is shipping orders out of order. There's no good reason for that.

it was monumentally busy from the start of the announcement and they said they have been flooded with orders, so i really would not be surprised if titles got oversold before they could be updated on the website. i don’t even think in their most optimistic projections that they would have moved this many units so quickly. as for the bulk package discount, why wouldn’t they try something else to try and get rid of as much of their inventory before closing as they can?

it’s unfortunate that this happens. but really, this wouldn’t even be an issue if not the scalper collector mentality of those who buy something for the sole purpose of selling it later at an inflated price.

i’m not going to blame twilight time. they literally just had a sale two months ago. i bought a few titles then. i wish i bought more. haven’t received an email yet saying there’s a refund, but i haven’t received one saying that i’m getting refunded.

For those that have had orders from Twilight Time and SAE already shipped, when did you place your order starting with the date that the final sale with Twilight Time started.

I just ordered one myself from SAE (along with 7 other titles that I determined to be most at risk with TT), in case they end up being cancelled with TT. If they're cancelled from TT, I'm safe, and a few dollars more per item is better than eBay. If they're not cancelled, I'll have some extra copies, maybe I'll be able to trade them with someone here for titles I wasn't able to get.

All my SAE orders have shipped except for the one I just placed obviously, ordered between 5/10 and 5/14 - with the last one shipping today. Will see how long they take to get to Canada.

None of my TT orders between 5/10 and 5/12 have shipped.

Especially since they stated that they're shipping orders in the order received. SAE had a similar problem in the past. It's as if they bulk printed the invoices and then either slip them up amongst packers and/or the last printed are on top with the first on bottom. Both of which guarantee out of order fulfillment.

Okay, once again, I hear what you’re saying and I get the point you’re making but these are all limited edition titles that have been on sale for three straight months now. If it any of these titles that are getting cancelled from people’s orders were so valuable to them that they’re now contemplating turning to eBay, why didn’t you buy them back in March? Or March of last year? Or any of the other number of times they were on sale?

Got an SAE shipping notice today for my order from 5/14; no TT orders have shipped yet, from 5/10 and later - if this is at all helpful. While I hope TT doesn't need to cancel any of my items, I'm not otherwise worried.

Speaking for myself, I've never followed what I'd consider the "less mainstream" labels, which was obviously my loss! I also haven't been frequenting the forum or Blu-ray news sites as regularly as I have in the past. So I don't find it hard to imagine that the sale is bringing in new customers or customers who didn't know about the previous sale, who are now happy to purchase some of these titles at these low prices. That won't be the case for everyone, but surely it's the case for some.

I received my order today from TT. I placed my order on May 10th, order #707xx.
They shipped the whole order...

Gun Fury
Peyton Place
Snake in the Eagles Shadow/Drunken Master
Kings Go Forth
The Gangs All Here
Morituri

I guess I was lucky. And no finger prints...

Order Date: May 11th
Ship Date: May 14th
Arrival Date: May 18th

I got in on it fast and was likely just lucky enough to be in the early orders.

Here is my last order. Really the stuff I was being lazy about before the death order was dropped

Seems to me he ordered while it was in stock, so he did his part to get the titles he wanted but got shafted.

I don't know about the specifics of the title in question, but I can say for titles I was looking at with the previous sales and tried to snag this time (the day the sale went live). Each of them was going to cost more than I pay for Criterion new, not exactly cheap and had every reason to believe they would be available at the next sale (and they were)

We have a long history of knowing low stock counts etc. If someone ordered on the first day of the real sale made it to checkout, and the title was still showing as in stock for some time after that....I'd say he has every right to be upset when his order is canceled over a week after the order was placed. That is just lame.

March of this year carried a lot of unknowns. Many people didn't know if they would have a job, and quite a few ended up not having one. There are a lot of factors at play as to why someone might not have wanted to fork out for a sale that didn't really feel like a real sale.

My 73xxx order from TT just shipped today, just two titles.

My 72xxx order (the larger, more important one) has not - and one title has already been pulled from it.

Both ordered Sunday night, just over one hour and about 500 orders(!) apart.

I picture the warehouse right now full of open boxes lined up, with the hired hands looking at 85% filled packages and checking across the room if Jack's order from #75xxx has a title in it that Jill's order #72xxx should have...

Ah well, these are questions of privilege...but still...they should prioritize the titles and orders by number, yes!

For me personally, it comes down to having extra funds available to make these purchases. I try to map out what I can afford each month for bluray releases over all these labels not just Twilight Time. So sometimes, I don't come back to labels for 3/4 months at a time. I have other Twilight Time releases that I put priority over these current titles and wanted to get the last ones on my list of releases I would be interested in. To me, it more about doing orders in numeral order over order size to be fair to everyone but I do see your side about buying earlier.
