Outside of Criterion and Shout, Warner is pretty un-friendly for sub-licensing to most labels. TT did release "Heaven & Earth", a Warner-owned title, but that was due to Stone pushing for it.

So looks like I ended up missing two then, as U-Turn must be the Oliver Stone I am missing. Also, do not have and was unaware of Baby Boom. I actually do have a extra copy of U-Turn and would love to get it signed. Seems like it would be sort of “cheating” though to not get it through the sale. Disappointing to be so close. It's also interesting to see that while the time it takes for the sold out releases to sell out hasn't changed over the years in average (about 1000 days), fewer and fewer releases sold out at all since 2015 (which is interesting considering Jamieson stated that their sales peaked in 2016). |

I figured I better pick this one up before it goes oop at SAE:
![]() I saw this for the first time recently and really enjoyed it. A bonus was seeing one of my favorite actors in it-Charles Bickford. One of my TT regrets was missing out on The Song of Bernadette with another excellent Bickford performance. I was also considering getting one of these in the next few days: ![]() ![]() Any opinions of one of these over the other? |

The Egyptian also had a magnet but I unfortunately missed out on that release (but luckily grabbed the Soul Media release before it went OOP). The magnets that existed were not a separate promotion - they were included in every copy while supplies lasted. |

"Beneath the 12-Mile Reef" is a decent little adventure film. It was the third CinemaScope film released and it really showed off how well the format could look with on-location scenery.

Plus, it has a Bernard Herrmann score, which is always a big plus, in my book.

They were part of the sale of a lot of the early releases and not a specific promotion. I'm not sure exactly when they stopped and not all items had a specific Title magnet -- some came with just a generic nonrelated magnet. Later on they'd just thrown and unrelated magnet into an order until they were gone (PAL JOEY was popular throw in) I have 9 title magnets, plus 2 for "BATTLE OF NERETVA: The COMPLETE FILM SCORE BY BERNARD HERRMANN including THE NAKED AND THE DEAD" FRIGHT NIGHT (12/2011) PICNIC (1/2012) PAL JOEY (2/2012) BELL BOOK AND CANDLE (4/2012) DESIREE (4/2012) JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF THE EARTH (5/2012) AS GOOD AS IT GETS (6/2012) COVER GIRL 7/2012) THOSE MAGNIFICENT MEN IN THEIR FLYING MACHINES (7/2012) IMG_1523.jpg IMG_1524.jpg As far as I'm aware -- these are the one's I don't have Twilight Time Generic Magnet -- I know I had this at one point, but must have tossed it somewhere THE EGYPTIAN (7/2011) MYSTERIOUS ISLAND (8/2011) THE BIG HEAT (5/2012) -- I bought my first TT disc sometime in early 2012 so not too surprising I missed the 1st 2, but I'm not sure why I never got this one since I think I bought it as a preorder) Last edited by hariseldon; 05-25-2020 at 04:15 PM. |

No, they mostly come out of Texas, I think. That's where my recent one did. Some even more devoted buyers here can clarify; I think we were just having this discussion last week.

You should consider getting them both. Others have commented on the attributes of Beneath the 12-Mile Reef; I'll only add that Edward Cronjager's lovely CinemaScope color cinematography was Oscar-nominated, and deservedly so.
The L-Shaped Room is an entirely different kind of film. It's main allure is a stunning performance by leading lady Leslie Caron, who won the Golden Globe and BAFTA Awards (and was Oscar-nominated) for her turn as an unmarried pregnant woman who moves into a boarding house in London that is filled with odd characters. It's definitely worth adding to your collection. |
