Although not at the beginning 90% of my TT titles will not play on my Samsung's. I think it must have to be something about the second layer as they usually fail towards the middle of the movie. Most recently with Those Magnificent Men in Their Flying Machines. So I played it and Cover Girl on a PS3 instead.

Couple of miscellaneous things:

I just ordered THOSE MAGNIFICENT MEN IN THEIR FLYING MACHINES.

And regarding the player issues...it's definitely helpful to have more than one BD player to check these things. Fortunately, these days, it's not unreasonable to be able to afford a second player.

My copy of PAL JOEY would stutter just at the end of a Rita Hayworth song when I played it in my Panasonic BD75 (which has never been updated). So I loaded the disc in my old PS3. I had to update the PS3. But PAL JOEY plays smooth as glass in the PS3...and I've checked it a dozen times and it never glitches.

There do seem to be some player/firmware issues with some of the discs.

Now I haven't watched the whole film yet so I can't comment on possible freezing issues later, but so far it is playing fine.

panasonic 110.
btw: Cover Girl looks great; I highly recommend people getting this title.
such a 40's musical classic; just amazing to now have it on bd.
it's like Singin' in the Rain's father, and we get that on the 17th.

so many great classic films have just come out on blu-ray and so many coming soon.
just incredible!!!!

...wouldn't it be great if TT did Emperor of the North? Besides Borgnine, there's Lee Marvin, and direction by Robert Aldrich. Perhaps not the greatest choice in terms of isolated score, but it's a Fox title, and in every other respect, fits the label's profile.

It's not bad for a boutique label whose products average about $35 a title (after shipping). This could make it 3 potential sellouts in less than 12 months for TT (Fright Night, Journey to the Center of the Earth, Mysterious Island).

For anyone still on the fence I highly recommend Mysterious Island. Probably some of the best picture quality on any blu ray I own.

Right, but not the high-flying numbers that some had predicted or claimed. I could see The Big Heat and Night of the Living Dead both selling out eventually as well.

I'm pretty sure Journey has actually sold more than that. Even though they made the announcement, I think journey still had ~700 copies remaining at the time of the announcement. So it has sold pretty well.
