Wayward Bus, wow. Might be among the worst films I've ever seen.

I guess I started getting a little overconfident in adding that one to my collection after Rapture, Swamp Water, and The Egyptian which were all total shots in the dark for me - and all amazing in their own respects. I figured this one was a "can't miss" considering some of the other Steinbeck adaptations. Not even the fallback "so bad it's good" could save this one for me, it was just bad in any era.

yeah there is a reason some of these films--like The Wayward Bus--have never had home video releases. They just aren't very good. at all.
I really think The Sound and The Fury will fall into the same category.

Rapture and Swamp Water suggest that theory is hardly foolproof.

Now in the case of Wayward Bus... well lets just say this is film I can do without ever seeing again.

Still, I would rather see Twilight time have a few "swings and misses" while continuing to uncover hidden gems rather than play it safe. I'm not even going to waste my time with As Good as it Gets (had it on DVD) or Steel Magnolias (don't care).

Next up for me is Those Magnificent Men and Their Flying Machines...

I guess I'm in the minority. I didn't mind The Wayward Bus one bit.

wow, looks like we got an early preview with the news of Rains of Ranchipur coming to Germany.
Great news!
I am really happy about TT getting that one.
how did they swing Bonjour Tristesse??--thought that one was coming to Mill Creek.
regardless, cannot wait for that.
lots of great stuff on there, but The Blue Lagoon??--LOL!
and deborah Kerr and Gregory Peck in Beloved Infidel--haven't ever seen that one; but 2 of my favorite actors.
and 3 titles in December--watch out poor wallet.
(still desperately hoping for Love Is A Many Splendored Thing)

I wish it was Lost Horizon from 1937 that was released.

Two months ago I was hellbent to get night of the living dead remake come this oct. Now thinking about it. A 30 dollar barebones bluray may be crazy to buy. Debating whether to buy it or not. Plus u add shipping to it. May not be worth it

Both. Parts in black-and-white and most in gorgeous Technicolor.

I've been a TT completist up until now, but that's the first title that makes me rethink my position... can't see me rewatching that one too much.

I'm sure Brooke Shields cannot contain her excitement that her most infamous film is finally coming to blu-ray.

That's interesting that TT is releasing two Sony blu-rays in December. Pity that neither of them look very good. I mean, what's the deal with The Blue Lagoon? I read that Brooke Shields was only 14 when she filmed it, and any nude scenes were body doubles. But isn't it kind of pervy, regardless? Why couldn't they cast somebody that was at least 18, so the pervs (like me ) wouldn't feel so gross watching it?

I'm still hoping Twilight Time (or Criterion) will release Sony titles The Swimmer and The Front.

TT on FB:

A note about MAJOR DUNDEE: At Sony's request it has been pushed back to March / April 2013 in order to do more restoration work on the master. We are sorry about that as we are as eager as anyone to see it released. However, we feel the wait will be worthwhile..
Don't like the latest announcements a bit,though.Very disappointed.Blue Lagoon?For real?Sorry but I think I'll pass.

Bonjour Tristesse is great. Initially I thought it was the Capra Lost Horizon, slightly disappointing to see its the remake

Very excited for Bonjour Tristesse, and Beloved Infidel sounds intriguing.

You'll likely be able to re-sell it for double in six months or so, which will be my justification for buying a film I'll probably only watch once or twice. Any word yet if it will be uncut? I'm guessing no.

Even from ImportCDs, it set me back over $25 bucks!
We'll just have to disagree about this one. Demetrius set me back $35 shipped while Valiant was $16 shipped direct from Eureka. I wasn't thinking that I paid too much for Valiant while watching it but I sure felt that way about Demetrius.
