Glad that got somewhat cleared up. Hopefully they work out all the kinks soon. The movie fan in my was really bummed for a while.

Just for comparison now that we can see the correct shipping price, 2 BDs were 5.55 to ship to Canada. Now it'll cost 8.95. That is more like the small increase I was expecting.
Someone should let SAE know that their new cart preview is spooking the horses though...

How many potential customers will just back out without ever logging in and attempting checkout?

Indeed. Each person who takes the time to write about it here should take an equal amount of time to write them directly (possibly just cut-and-paste their comment here with an edit or two). Only if SAE get notified (and especially if they are notified en masse) will they make correcting the shipping glitch top priority... possibly putting a notice on the site until it is done.

as i said at FSM, if the shipping prices at amazon haven't changed, Twilight Time better start to think of collaborating with them also.
or have they increased there too?

I'm seeing a lot of $12.29 shipping charges from Amazon for Blu-rays we are shipping International. European countries, depends where specifically I'm sure. Yikes!

This shipping rate "problem" is also getting mention in relation to other items. I was just visiting a forum about plastic models (yes, I have a number of geeky hobbies) and posts have just started appearing about the jump in cost to ship models and accessories.

Oh well, you can't fight the post office.

yeah the rate hikes may help the PO a bit, but not much.
A bailout will be the only thing that saves the USPS--

Unrelated to SAE and TT but the shipping cost with marketplace sellers at Amazon.com is one reason why I try to find to find the same product over at Amazon.co.uk at a similar price. Huge difference in shipping cost!

Unfortunately, unless something has changed, Amazon.com sets the shipping costs for Amazon Marketplace sellers.

Yes, that is Amazon alright. Maybe if the marketplace shipping cost involved expedited shipping I'd be fine with it but they are rarely as quick as Amazon themself (and that's not really saying much).

Hats off to SAE for quick international shipping, you really put most to shame in that regard. Top marks!

Yep, a few of years ago Amazon US doubled the p&p price, $6 to $12 for marketplace DVD sales, since then I've always bought from Amazon UK Marketplace. But all this makes Twilight Time Blu's VERY expensive, imported to the UK. For me it's going to have to be a real must-have movie that I can't get anywhere else, casual buys are out of the question.

One of these things is not like the others.

I love Hard Times, but at least I can understand why it is getting a limited release. How the hell it was determined that Philadelphia wouldn't sell in a wider release is beyond my comprehension.

Leave Her to Heaven! Over the moon for that one, a visual feast that should look jaw-droppingly gorgeous on BD. One of my favorite films of that era. I'm interested in the two Hill films, but not at $30 each.

Definitely in for Philadelphia, The Driver, Hard Times and Leave Her To Heaven. Also the previously announced Major Dundee, Christine and The Fury.

Hope for some extras on The Driver and of course Christine.

Is it just me or are the Twilight Time announcements this year much more interesting then what the other niche labels (Olive, Critierion, etc.) have announced thus far for 2013.

Twilight Time seems to be on a roll, far ahead of Olive and just slightly behind Criterion for me. Only 2 Olive titles interest me so far (Night of the Demons 2 and the still unannounced Dr. Terror's House of Horrors) and Devil's Backbone is the only Criterion title on my list. I'd love for them to confirm Scanners and Thief and finally upgrade Element of Crime.
