As far as MGM titles are concerned, I'd love to see them pick up Orson Welles' "The Stranger". The Film Chest, or whatever they call themselves, release is possibly the worst excuse for a BD on the market today. The MGM DVD looked pretty great, so an upgrade from their source would be great!

Hear hear! It definitely deserves a better release than the awful Film Chest effort.

Yes, the MGM DVD of the Stranger has better PQ than the Film Chest Blu Ray - I can say that for the Strange Loves of Martha Ivers as well

Guilty pleasure and the DVD looks good, so the materials should be up to standard.
I'd buy that.

Judging from the fair to average transfers of some MGM/UA DVDs the following titles seem unlikely without a major restoration, especially if they are going to look like the blu-ray of "The Greatest Story Ever Told":

Tom Jones
Irma La Douce
The Charge of the Light Brigade
The Private Life of Sherlock Holmes
The Hallelujah Trail
The Russian's Are coming
The Last Valley
Women in Love
Carnal Knowledge
Inherit the Wind

Which titles are the closest to selling out these days?

Nevermind, I just saw the information on the previous pages.

Can anyone tell me just how reliable Screen Archives are when shipping to the U.K? I was just about to order Hard Times, but I was a bit concerned about the extra charge they goad you into paying, incase it gets lost in delivery. Has anyone in the U.K braved it without the tracking charge?

The only time I've had a problem with TT is when I paid the extra tracking charge when ordering 3 soundtrack CD's (first time I'd noticed the warning on their site). They put the actual item cost on the package and I was stung with a £16 customs bill!

I've never used that tracking option before or since and have had no problems at all, customs or otherwise, with packages from them.

I'm in the UK, btw.

Whoa! They included the tracking option as part of the cost of the package? That's dishonest of them! I think I'll order it with normal delivery. Do you know how long they usually take to arrive in the post?

If these titles are selling out in less than a year, what makes Sony believe they won't sell on a regular basis if they released them themselves - especially when they would go for $9.99 at Best Buy?

It is when you end up paying for customs charges on top of it. Besides, it's not part of the contents of the package.

Thanks guys... I just decided to go without the tracking.
