Does Twilight Time take immediate payment on pre-orders or only after dispatch?

They put a pending charge on to check the pay source. It falls off in a couple days. They take actual payment at shipment.

I've only ever paid by CC, but that actually makes sense to me.

Sadly, I skipped Twilight Time's release of this title. Since the audio appears to be lossy-ass DD 2.0, I'll be skipping this as well.

Lost Horizon
I suspect that Sony would give Criterion first dibs at any Capra titles.

I sure hope so, and IT HAPPENED ONE NIGHT and YOU CAN'T TAKE IT WITH YOU, and maybe even LOST HORIZON if they include the surviving longest version and don't restrict it to only the reconstructed version with stills. But I'd still get them from Twilight Time. They need to come out on Blu-ray regardless! We need lots more Capra on Blu.

The fact that none of the Capra classics have even been hinted at by either Twilight Time or Criterion...or yet appeared in another region (at least that I'm aware of)...strongly suggests that Sony might be holding these titles back Blu-Velvet. Perhaps for a remastered Capra box of their own? Possibly after a limited 4k DCP run?

It is indeed odd that at this late date in the Blu-ray format Capra's body of work from the Columbia Classics series is still totally MIA*.

* ...along with their Billie Holiday catalogue.

My copy of Hard Times just arrived in the post and I wasn't charged for customs. Considering I only ordered it last Wednesday, I'm amazed it arrived so quickly! I would've thought it would have taken atleast two weeks, so I'm very happy about this.

Now... That Driver pre-order...

Does anyone suspect that Body Double will have a similar signature promotion? Order Body Double and 3 or 4 other titles and get a signed copy of The Fury by De Palma, maybe? Sounds unlikely, I guess, but I would have thought the same about Walter Hill until recently.

For whatever reason SAE are great with delivery to the U.K. I think I got one of my orders in 4 working days!

With the news of Arrow's upcoming releases of The Fury, Phantom of the Paradise & Sisters in UK/Region B territory, not to mention their already released (and upcoming) Blu-ray's of Blow Out, Obsession, and Dressed To Kill, does anyone else think we will be seeing a release of Body Double from Arrow too?

After having already plunked my money down for TT's version of The Fury, I was a little miffed about reading that another release would be coming out. You just know Arrow's version will have substantial extras...

I wonder with that MGM deal that Twilight Time worked out if they have access to any Orion films? If so I'd like to see two George Romero movies get a release, Monkey Shines and The Dark Half.

I just can't see Sony doing that. I might buy it and you might buy it but the average consumer doesn't know who Frank Capra is.

I'd be all in for a Lost Horizon 1937 blu ray if it included a non still photo scene version.

Um... That list has so little chance of coming through Twilight Time, I don't now how to simply shoot it down... But here we go...

Universal (No contract with Twilight Time and not likely at this point):
*Batteries Not Included (Amblin); Kindergarten Cop; Lionheart; Tank; Twins; Airport '77; American Tail (Amblin); American Tale: Feivel Goes West (Amblin); Land Before Time (Amblin)

Image Entertainment (No chance):
Black Moon Rising; House; House II; Philadelphia Experiment

Warner Brothers (No chance):
Critters; Critters 2; Critters 3; Critters 4; Tarzan the Ape Man; Tarzan Escapes; Tarzan and His Mate

Dreamworks (Not certain if this is with Paramount or Fox since Dreamworks changed distribution):
The Prince of Egypt

Paramount (Likely going to WB for distribution):
The Golden Child
