Maybe we need a thread for TT complaints, one for TT appreciation, and this one could just be strictly about the releases.

The main difference is that I'm not complaining about the tone of an entire thread with nearly 7,000 posts - I'm criticizing a specific post.

Second of all, I didn't say he "shouldn't be here" - I merely stated the simple fact that if he's so displeased with the tone of the thread there are other places to get the same information that won't "force" him to read all the negative opinions. I, on the other hand, have no complaints about the overall tenor of the thread, so there'd be no good reason for me to stop reading it.

For the record, there's a difference between:

"I don't like this aspect of Twilight Time's business model" [posted in a thread about Twilight Time]

and:

"Gosh, why can't you guys just shut up about what you don't like about Twilight Time. I shouldn't have to be exposed to criticisms of Twilight Time in a thread about Twilight Time! All you complainers are just a bunch of babies!"

Furthermore, I don't have any problem with people saying "I think the criticisms of Twilight Time that have been stated so many times in this thread are unreasonable" and explaining why. I only have a problem with: "I can't stand negativity so you should all just shut up" (plus an extra dose of condescension and presumptuousness about the motivations of the "complainers.")

If I had said: "Gosh, all the complainers about the complainers in this thread make this thread completely unreadable and they should all just shut up and go hang out at Goodwill where they belong," your post would have been a bit more on-point.
Love this holier than thou my sh*t don't stink total snotty reply

And yes you did say "perhaps you could ignore this thread"
Perhaps, you should go to a thread where you wouldn't sound so condescending to other members,,,you sound so high and mighty ...give the man a pedestal lol

There really should be a Twilight Time complaint thread and leave this thread to discussion of the films and recommendations and not these character attacks, Nick Redman attacks, waah waah waah
Keep Calm and Watch Movies - so much time gets wasted with this back and forth useless petty arguing over nothing.. just watch a damn movie !

Apologize for derailing from the topic but is anyone on here have an exact date for pre-ordering Jane Eyre? Should be soon as of next week perhaps?

Thanks in advance!

Update found my answer on their website...nevermind.

Yes, I am a perfect and mighty individual - better looking, better smelling, and a better dresser than everyone in this thread. You've sure got my number.

Also, your posts aren't condescending or snotty in the least.

In greater seriousness, though, I'm adoring your "ignore the words actually being said and write complete nonsense in response" style of replying. You haven't actually addressed anything I've said - you've only made a series of mindless ad hominems that aren't quite as effective as you seem to think they are, mainly because they have absolutely no bearing on what I've actually posted.

Wow. I'm not sure what to say to someone who can quote something and still completely misunderstand the meanings of the words being quoted. You've done that twice now.

But I'm done arguing with you - if you're not going to actually respond to the words being posted, then there's no point.

Interesting that you're concerned that I sound so "high and mighty" and "condescending to other members," yet you have nothing to say about anthonyls's post calling a good percentage of the posters in this thread "frickin babies" and telling them to "grow up" and to "continue shopping where you belong... At Wallmart" (which I can see he thinks is a very harsh insult, though I'm personally not a member of the "anyone who shops at Walmart is a loser" brigade.) It seems you are rather selective in the "condescension" you feel the need to criticize.

With all that said, I'll happily take the pedestal that you've so kindly offered. I've always wanted my own pedestal. Can you just make sure that you send me one that's made of ivory? It'll perfectly match the decor of the tower I live in.

Edit: To everyone else reading the thread, sorry about the derail. I won't post anything more on this specific topic.

Man this is like the govenment shutdown.

Some people like TT and are willing to pay the prices and play the game that TT makes them play and buy every title. They love the fact that a niche title like Rapture that basically no one cares about made it out from TT, so they will support TT almost non-conditionally. Almost zero to no complaints.

There are others that don't really like the way TT is set up, don't like the 3,000 model or the price, but are willing to pay for stuff that they are interested in. They complain from time to time, but they also praise TT too. I fall into this camp.

There are others that have no interest in buying from TT, but want some of the bigger titles TT has, but are unwilling to play the TT game. Because they want the titles but not from TT, they are mad and will basically not be happy no matter what TT does. They are also unhappy with scalping.

Then there are those that just have no interest period in TT because they don't want any of their titles, and think that the TT business model is a joke set up to spur scalping.

And no not all hardcore TT supportors chomp cavier off the backs of high paid escorts, and not all TT detractors eat out of dumpsters.

whitesheik, ROclockCK and Bruce Pullen are patting Nick Redman on the back for cutting off Blu-ray.com. 3 people vs hundreds that want to have them reviewed here.

ROclockCK whoever he is seems like an okay person. Maybe a little shill-ish, but still okay.

Not a fan of Whitesheik/Haneshisway whatever you call him. Dude basically thought I was nuts when I claimed that The Fury TT left a lot to be desired and was marred (in my eyes) with more "Print like" damage then I was expecting. Took me to task for taking HTF to task and this site for giving it a higher grade then I felt was appropriate because apparently it couldn't possibly look any better (Hello Arrow disc 6 months later from a new digital restoration!), and it must look so bad because of the shooting conditions, or the optical printing, etc....Which my issues with the TT disc had nothing to do with excessive grain (which I would guess had to do with the film stock used), but with many instances of print damage that go on through practically the whole films run time, damage that isn't a deal breaker and the disc is still watchable in my eyes, but not something that deserves a 5 out of 5...or even a 3.5 out of 5 in PQ. I was expecting more for something I spent 30 bucks on (at the time this and Christine were my first TT order). When I brought this up Whitesheik almost took it as some kind of personal attack, like how dare I question these reviews (especially the Robert Harris one), and how dare I question a Twilight Time release.

While it is quite petty for Twilight Time to single out one site, the screeners themselves don't really seem like that big of a deal. The reviews for these movies hit the net at the same time everyone receives their pre-orders, so they really don't do us much good anyway. Especially when it comes to movies like Night Of The Living Dead or Christine.

You can get most of the disc specs and details right here on the forums, so even if they stop reviewing Twilight Time titles, the info will be out there. And if the site chooses to buy them for review, that really isn't a big deal either. After all, we all have to pay for ours.

I'll admit he gave some good technical arguements, but he seemed to be what you say, insanely protective. With the Arrow disc being a real improvement, I'm guessing most his technical arguements as to why the TT disc couldn't possibly look better are now debunked.

But anyway....I'm extremely happy with my TT discs of Major Dundee, Christine, The Driver, Hard Times, and Body Double, so The Fury not looking great I can live with, especially when there are now other better options out there.

So far from the one review posted, it appears to be, and no it's not region free.

Here is the review

Unfortunately all Arrow releases are now region-locked, although the 'top-button' work-around (a la ROTLD) can be used on Runaway Train and Spider Baby.
