I think a lot of there numbers are off, most of the titles listed have 500+ with the exception of a few.

Well they said getting low. I think any under 1000 falls into that category. How is magnificent men doing?

Yep, I got e-mail confirmation the other day that Oliver! was on the way. That'll make my sixth TT title, along with Philadelphia, Hard Times, The Driver, Sexy Beast, and The Other.

I received my copy of Leave Her to Heaven today. That bumps my total of TT Blus to a whopping 3!

If the numbers are to be believed, there are 736, which makes it one of the lower numbers on that list.

Anyone else notice if their shipping has changed with SAE? I have ordered thru them for probably over 5 years and now my current order shipped out some oddball UPS shipping that looks like it takes a whole week to deliver. Also my order thru UPS says it was shipping from NJ? I thought SAE was in VA. Are TT titles now being shipped from another area perhaps?

If you're referring to UPS Mail Innovations, it's not unlike FedEx SmartPost or DHL Global Mail in that it is a partnership between those private carriers and the USPS. The private carrier handles the longest part of a shipment's journey. Then it's tendered to USPS once it reaches your local Zip Code for delivery to you. At least in theory, the idea is that such an arrangement leverages the respective strengths of the companies (i.e., unlike FedEx, for instance, the USPS has carriers going to basically every address in the country every day).

The problem in my experience is that, unless you know that the shipper uses one of these "hybrid"/partnership carriers (and thereby know to check the private carrier's site for tracking not USPS.com), you're likely looking at USPS.com for tracking on the USPS Tracking number they provide. It won't show scans at USPS.com until the shipment reaches your local Zip Code (which usually means delivery will happen by the next day, so the period of time you likely most want to have tracking has passed). (I also dislike this shipping choice for short distances. My orders from Import CDs in Irvine, CA used to take about three days to arrive via USPS First Class Mail. Now that they use DHL Global Mail to ship one county away, their shipments takes about a week or more to arrive.)

My order of The Way We Were went through Logan Township, New Jersey which tracking says is the location of a "UPS Mail Innovations origin facility." That doesn't mean it originated there. I think this means that SAE delivers their shipments to UPS there/UPS picks them up from SAE and they are first sorted at that facility.

Anyway, that's good info - need to grab myself Magnificent Men In Their Flying Machines PDQ.
RE: As Good As It Gets, I think it's just an eye-opener to see that such a high-profile title has had such a slow crawl to 3,000 copies sold. Which probably has little to do with the title and little to do with the blu-ray format and a lot to do with the average fan of that film expecting that if it's on blu, it's something they can a)find via prominent online merchants and b)buy for $15 or less.

I guess it's all relative to what TT considers as "getting low in stock". Anyway here are the numbers from the three sites: A=Amazon, S=SAE, T=TCM, and []=Total.

A:312 S: 884 T:15 [1211] (As Good As It Gets)
A:271 S:1107 T: 1 [1379] (Bell, Book and Candle)
A:328 S:1013 T:15 [1356] (Bye Bye Birdie)
A:760 S:1151 T:15 [1926] (The Driver)
A:328 S: 617 T:15 [ 960] (Enemy Mine)
A:287 S:1094 T: 1 [1382] (Leave Her to Heaven)
A:250 S: 735 T:15 [1000] (Those Magnificent Men in Their Flying Machines)

Watched the special features which are in HD. The behind the scenes featurette is vintage. Meeting Fagin and Meeting oliver are brand new HD modern interviews with Mark Lester and Ron Moody, which was a nice surprise. Dance and sing alongs are a little childish but still nice to have. Menu is static and matches the cover with no sound.
There is a red intermission card and a black screen for the entr'acte. The PQ is great (except for some of the opening credit sections)....it's all quite grainy, (as it should be for the type of film stock used.) Sound quality is good, the isolated score track is also nice (to my ears it sounds better then the actual film track, but since it had all the sound effects it, sometimes it feels pointless to listen to it. It literally is only missing the dialog during scenes with underscore, but it is still very nice to have.

That is great someone got OLIVER! on Blu. I would have probably rec'd my order Monday but since SAE is now shipping U.S. orders thru UPS Mail Innovations customers are now going to be waiting a bit longer to get their orders. They give the shipment to UPS first and then that gets delivered to your local USPS office and then they finish the delivery.

I don't know about how anyone else feels about this and I have stood by SAE all these years but this form of shipping is just awful. No one likes waiting longer for an order to arrive.

I re-watched TT's Cover Girl blu ray for the second time this year. I personally think it looks great. Well worth the upgrade and I do not agree with the 2.5 video rating here. Any of the mentioned flaws are barely noticeable to me.

2.5 is a half point more than Robert Harris gave it.

Out of 5, I'd probably rate the COVER GIRL picture about 3.5. It's not all that bad, but it's not great by any means. The movie itself is also fun fluff, but only okay, and probably worth a 3.5 as well. Still glad I have it on Blu-ray, however.

I'll be curious to read about whether they changed how an order of 3 is packed... (it's about the only way I've found to keep shipping damage to near non-existant). And yes, I would have preferred they stuck with first class postage, limiting it to just a few days in transit; suspect this change will probably double that.

Ugh, that's like Fedex Smartpost which I detest - mostly because my local post office seems unable to deal with it for some reason.
