If you ordered one of the SINBAD's from TCM, it looks like they may have screwed up everyone's orders by shipping out the wrong Sinbad. If you ordered both, you'll get one, but it will not be the one listed that was shipped in your orders, and the other will probably be "backordered". I called them and they have no clue what's going on with them. They checked and said the SKU's are supposedly correct, so why the two titles are being mistaken for one another remains a mystery. They also said they are now backordered on both titles so who knows if they will get any more in, or if they ever got their original allotment. I ordered from them right away and I can't even get a copy from them so I probably won't be shopping there again. It was just a cheaper alternative to SAE with TCM's lower shipping and with the coupon they had. To everyone who has horror stories about SAE's slow shipping issues, at least you are receiving or will receive the correct product. With TCM, I've given up hope at this point and am not going to wait around for them to get their crap together and have these sell out in the meantime.

Holy hell, man. Golden Voyage arrived at SAE late and after they began shipping orders they had snow delays. They busted their asses to make up for it and get everyone's order out as soon as they could. And yet you can't stop complaining about them? I think under the circumstances they have done quite a good job with our orders - blame TT for getting Golden Voyage to them so late.

Is SAE perfect. Not by a long shot; since August none of my orders has shipped until after release day despite placing an order the instant they went live. Can't blame weather delays for that. But they have done a great job overall the past two years despite a recent streak of hold ups with my orders.

We all want our orders right now. Just the nature of being movie fans.
This is all well and good and I agree the complaining has got a bit out of hand, but the fact remains, there wouldn't be so much complaining if SAE or TT had just let us know what was going on.

Instead it was complete silence on their end and terse emails basically saying 'wait your turn'.

This is not the way a company should be run and I think we as consumers (paying a premium price) deserve better.

The fact that it is such a small operation trying to succeed means they should be doing everything they can to make us satisfied so we come back for repeat purchases. Instead they drive people away with their sneaky changing of the shipping rates and delivery and basically just general rudeness through customer service.

They have a lot to learn if they want this company to succeed.

No, they charge quite a bit for shipping and they don't even ship first class anymore. Then on top if it they ship late. And this isn't the only order of mine that took a long time to ship. They are dropping the ball and if I am goign to spend money on it....far too much money then im certainly going to complain. Oh and while im at it, it's not 1996, update your website SAE.

My Sinbad's just arrived today. They said they shipped on the 6th. Today is the 13th, and, I only live about 3 hours from them. 7 days to get about 170 miles, wow. But, just as happy as can be to finally have them.

I've progressed all the way through the checkout just short of confirming my purchase and everything looks like it's in stock. What am I missing?
They must have found additional stock or received some returns. I missed out on Body Double originally and placed an order in the off chance that it might just ship. Well I received a shipping noticed from TCM saying it was shipped so I'll just wait and see what arrrives.

Mine are on the way, I'm never really concerned when they arrive as long as they arrive, I'm very patient.

I agree 100%. Most consumers are very understanding when a small online company has issues. I've had smaller companies alert me there would be a delay in my order for whatever reason, and I was okay with it, because they took the time to explain the problem. We have spent so much time lately trying to figure out why orders have been not fulfilled because SA has said nothing about the last two pre-order periods. If SA is going to charge premium prices for shipping, they need to offer a premium service. SA's customer service is awful (and it was not like that until recently) and Ed is particularly rude and dismissive. I had planned to purchase some TT blu-rays as Christmas gifts, but I didn't want to deal with any of these problems so I went elsewhere. Every company encounters problems, but it's how the company deals with them that makes the difference.

I don't want to always be harping on the shipping and pre-orders, but I don't like companies that behave like I owe them big thanks for their crappy service.

Damn. I was wondering why I hadn't even gotten a shipping notice from them yet. Now BOTH Sinbad's just say "on order" instead of in-stock. I did the same thing as you. Coupon made it about $4 cheaper per blu-ray (basically a couple bucks off, and free shipping, but add tax). It sounds like they might have screwed us.

edit: I suppose since these titles are not sold out through the other venues, there is really no reason TCM shouldn't be able to get stock and fulfill existing orders. That is unless Twilight Time already distributed 100% to SAE and there is nothing left for TCM - but I doubt that - at least not yet. TCM better get their shit together though. Chalk me up as a person that isn't annoyed at slight delays, but if they cause me to miss a "sold out" title I will pretty much learn my lesson never to shop with them again.

Yes, I'd ordered extra Golden Voyages from them for X-mas gifts. What do I get? Eye of the Tigers. I contacted them immediately via e-mail (including photos of my order confirmation and what the packing slip and box contained for that order) and have received NO reply.

Screen Archives have been in business for well over 20 years so they seem to have succeeded quite well.

I have a feeling that Gilda will be in the next batch of Twilight Time announcements after hearing about the Italian release. I doubt Sony will give this the 'From Here to Eternity' treatment, but I hope I'm wrong because it deserves to have more than 3000 units. It's more than likely to be TT though.

I'll buy it either way, but I want a Blu-ray of AFFAIR IN TRINIDAD just as much as GILDA.

Same. I'd pay anything for a Gilda blu ray. The HDTV version with the UCLA restoration is stunning.

Affair in Trinidad and Loves of Carmen would both be great TT additions as well. I think Carmen features the most beautiful technicolor appearance by Rita Hayworth.

Add me to the list of those who would gladly fork over the $$ for a nice Blu-ray of Gilda.

That is really messed up. Sounds like a lot of hassle is coming for some board members. Just what people need at holiday time.... more stress!

If TT does get this I'm getting the Italian release. Glad to know I've got the option now anyways.
Still hoping this will go to Criterion instead of them.

I agree, I've been buying sound tracks for years from SAE, people are just too impatient, so what it takes a few days longer and that makes them a terrible company

Good then decrease my shipping to 2 dollars. I don't mind getting crappy service as long as im paying crappy prices. You know it's bad when I can pay 2 dollars and get a packaged shipped to me in 3 days from ebay but im paying closer to 5 dollars and it takes 5-6 days.

Opened up my copies of the two Sinbads and this is the first time I've had issues. The case for The Golden Voyage of Sinbad had a large chunk missing from the top of the case and a good size crack running down the back of the case behind the cover art. Sinbad and the Eye of the Tiger had fingerprints all over the play side of the disc. Guess I'll have to check to see who those belong to.
