I hope to get one, and will be waiting at 4:00pm when it goes live, the limits will mean I have a better chance of getting one.

There's never been a case of people missing out if they are ready to order when the pre-order comes live. Christine has been the fastest sellout and it took a few hours. However, the limits are a good idea, specially for this title.

I'm currently switching back and forth between TCM's current showing of Journey to the Center of the Earth and Twilight Time's bluray. No comparison! TCM's showing looks to me to be softer and over-saturated with color. I wonder what their source is.

If we can get TT to push Fox for "One Million Years BC" and then Warner Bros. to get moving on "Beast From 20,000 Fathoms," "Valley of Gwangi" and "Mighty Joe Young" we will have all of the master's feature films!!
I hope we get the chance to have the remaining Harryhausen movies on Blu-ray. I still can't believe "The Beast of Hollow Mountain" is coming this month on blu beating "The Valley of Gwangi".

I can't find any info indicating Harryhausen was involved on "Beast of Hollow Mountain" although it apparently was the first widescreen color film involving stop motion effects.

Harryhausen wasn't involved with "The Beast of Hollow Mountain" but both movies are based on the same Willis O'Brien script. I figured a movie like "Beast" could never have a chance to make it to blu but "The Valley of Gwangi" movie powered by Harryhausen would be a no-brainer. The wait is still on. I really worry Warner isn't interested in bringing "Gwangi" and "The Beast From 20,000 Fathoms" to Blu-ray.

I had a chance to watch a bit of it as well and totally agree. I wonder if the print they used was even an HD one? I didn't look closely to check.

I personally think the limit should be 1 per household/mailing address but that is just me. Maybe 2 at the most but there would never be a way to enforce something that like.

Well they do that eventually but of course all you need is another account, address and email address.

True, there are always ways to circumvent limits, never underestimate the power of greed.

True, but a smaller limit will at least make sure more people that are actually buying the movie get it. Christine had a limit of 10 until they were down to 500 left, so there was probably a good chunk of people that bought a few copies of that movie to sell later on down the line.

Forgot to mention, but I asked them a few days ago if they'll continue to sell titles that aren't sold out once the 3-year window is reached, and this was their response:
That will most likely be determined on a case-by-case basis.

Why wouldn't they sell titles that haven't sold out?

Apparently their deal with Sony requires them to destroy any excess stock once the 3 years pass. It may be different with Fox and MGM, hence "case-by-case basis".

Wow I had no idea. So technically you could own a SUPER limited edition. Like it could actually end up being as 1000 to 2000 actually sold and the rest destroyed. Also after it not selling out no studio is going to release it wide.

Well it might be a good investment to purchase a few copies of those titles a month or two before the three years is up.

More than likly they will just offer a promo, like they did with the unsold DVD's, spend $100 get an expiring title for free.

Seems kind of silly. I mean if Sony decides they want to release the title in question themselves, then fine. But if not, why insist they be destroyed? It's not like Sony are releasing much in the way of catalog titles these days anyway.

Even if they don't want to release it themselves, they can still license the title out to someone else.
