I just saw that on their FB page. I'm excited to see a US release, as the French blu-ray looks great.

Oooh! I'm totally up for that. I was soooo close to buying the French blu-ray when I saw it in a store while I was in Lille this summer, but I held off and have been regretting it since (if one of the other three titles I was looking for were in stock, I would have totally bit). Let's hope the transfer is great and they come up with an equally interesting cover (I really, really like the French cover).

I've got the TT DVD of VIOLENT SATURDAY (from a previous promotion where you got a free DVD when buying so many Blu-rays), and while the color's great (and so's the movie), the 'scope picture is non-anamorphic so I will definitely want to upgrade to the Blu-ray.

Yes as long as you spend 100 bucks on other TT product.

I just received the French Blu-ray of this film. I've never seen it, but it was a bit cheaper than a TT upgrade would cost.

Thanks for the offer. The main thing I wanted was Agora since that's not available in the US on blu and it's such a gloriously beautiful movie that needs the high quality. My disappointment at not finding that at Fnac outweighed my happiness at finding Violent Saturday, which is why I didn't end up buying. I'll wait to see how the TT blu holds up before deciding whether to buy the French one -- the French one does have nice special features.

Thank you! That's very useful information, particularly the region-free bit. It may be helpful to others for you to report your knowledge on the region coding info for that movie.

No. They press 3000 copies for sell and they press upto 1000 more copies that are used for replacements, sent to people in the movie and etc.

I find the difficult to believe. Do you have a source for this?

Typically a contingency runs at about 10%, not 33% so there's really no other thing for me to think than you simply made this up.

That seems like a pretty definitive statement. Do you know this for a fact?

when I worked for some local bands in 2008, when we used (disck makers and then CAV) to press cd's then dvd/s blu-rays, wealways pressed 3000 for sale and they recomended (and I did research from other bands who used them and other bands who used other pressing plants) and it appeared that upto 1000 was the amount extra most bands were having pressed extra.

Before we pressed that many extra (which we used as promos and extras for if was problems and copies for members and etc) we knew the pressing plant of course wants you to increase how many you press (more $$$ for them) but of the 50 some bands talked to and with thir needs, seemed to be like ours, so we pressed that many.

Then began talk to other people in midwest and south when they pressed their work and no matter wher ethey had them produced, the content maker, seemed to be same, upto 1000 extra

So you just stated a personal opinion as fact even though that personal opinion has absolutely nothing to do with blu-rays?
