I think they've been pretty reasonable in dealing with that, so I think it's reasonable for you just to cut them some slack and meet them halfway this time around.
Eco-cases can go die. And yeah, it's not hard to replace them when you've got over 200 brand new viva elite's from casetopia waiting to be swapped

Much as I enjoy the film, I am guessing THE DISAPPEARENCE, due to it being obscure to todays consumers, unless you had access to Canadian channels like I did, or its playdates on early cable channels, or being on Vestron video in the 80's..

Yes, TT has said on Facebook that it's due out on blu some time this year. As previously mentioned, the low sales most likely had to due with the fact that the DVD was a non-anamorphic transfer, and for a film that had an OAR of 2.55.1, that severely impacts the picture quality when zooming it in manually to fit a 16.9 television. My guess is that a blu-ray release will sell much better.

wow, bye bye birdie is getting down there pretty decently... actually wondered if it would sell out at all. happy to see that it will sell out probably within the next six months (I notice titles start to sell out faster once they get the under 1000 notification)

Wait you mean February releases or the pre-order that goes up in February? The pre-orders for the movies being released on February 11th is Wednesday.

I have a suggestion for the OP. Would it be possible to list the company (Sony, Fox, MGM, etc) the title is being licensed from in the TT Releases section? This would make it a lot easier for me to decide whether or not to pre-order a title, as it seems like the only relatively safe pre-order is a Sony title.

Fever Pitch (MGM)

April:

Mr. Hobbs Takes a Vacation (Fox)

I'm curious. What is the rationale for thinking The Blob will be a good test case? I'm not saying anyone is wrong...just not sure what the reasoning is. Normally, I would say yes...big name actor and Sci-Fi/Horror/Thriller which have traditional sold very briskly. However, Criterion has already released an excellent Blu-ray of this movie. I would think that would detract significantly from it's sales. I know I don't plan on double-dipping. Does everyone else?

I haven't noticed Our Man Flint showing up on any of the "under 500" lists that SAE/TT occasionally sends out ... but when I tried the cart game last week, it showed up as 243 copies remaining. I tried again today, but can't get the cart game to work. Does anybody here have a clue?

Thanks.

This is not the same movie release by Criterion, but the version from 1988. Horror titles from the 80's have sold out very fast with Christine selling out in a matter of hours...this all happened before the new purchase restrictions were put into effect .

Yeah, but wouldn't you think they'd send out a notice if the stock is really that low?

I wondered about that myself, since it used to seem like the Cart Game kept saying that both Flint movies were awfully low.

I thought they only sent out notices when it was 500 or under for ALL copies...

307 copies are still on Amazon + whatever is on TCM

On some titles, SAE doesn't list the entire 3000 inventory at once. Sometimes they will just list 2000, and then add the last 1000 later, etc. Thus, titles like FLINT still probably have well over 1000 left.

SAE accounts for the Amazon sales and it's total stock listed at the SAE site should include Amazon. I believe that once stock starts to get below a minimum point, SAE stops selling the title at Amazon. TCM gets a bit of stock for each title
that is not reflected in the notices sent by SAE or the TT low stock announcements.
