It seems like Scream doesnt have much interest in much pre-1980. That being said Im really happy about Tales from the Crypt/Vault of Horror coming from them. I think there will be a little more from that era. I think the interest depends on how well they think a title will sell. I could be wrong but they seem to prefer the 80s-90s horrors/slashers and contemporary cheese fests. I like classic cheese

I think Audrey Rose and the Blob are givens + 2 AIP titles.. Imagine if TT got to Susan Hart ?

I'd be fine on some AIP horror titles, depending on what they are. If it's Theatre of Blood, I'd pick up the Arrow release (I'd REALLY prefer if TT doesn't get any Price films).

Does anyone realistically think The Blob will sell out within an hour? I'm probably going to be stuck in lab for at least an hour after it goes up for preorder. Don't want to miss out on it (Christine sold out the fastest and that was 7 hours? So I'm not too terribly worried about it but this thing has been hinted at for like a year so it seems there is a lot of hype surrounding it).

I doubt this will sell out in an hour, although crazier things have happened before. If I had to predict a time frame I would say 6-8 hours. Christine, which IMO is a much popular film, took 7 hours.

All I know is that I will be camping out front of my computer at work when the pre-order goes live. It will be a feeding frenzy.

The Blob will not sell out in one hour, however it would not surprise me if it sold out the same day it is available to pre-order. My hunch is a quick easy 3000 units sold

Isn't Candyman with Sony/Columbia? I think that would sell out real quick if announced. I know there's a UK release but I understand it wasn't the best transfer, and I don't think it had any extras.

Yeah it's unfortunate really. I love 80s slashers as much as the next guy, but would love to see them tackling more classic films. Hopefully the Tales/ Vault double feature will sell well, and of course the Price Vol. II collection, and convince them to start releasing more from that era.

As for the Yorga films, I know Cliff has specifically spoken out against releasing them because sales were terrible for the DVDs. Hopefully TT gives them another shot on Blu!

I'll be fascinated to see how fast it goes. It's certainly the most-discussed TT title over the last year or so, both here and on social media, but I suppose there's a chance all the chatter doesn't translate into 3,000 copies moving through two retailers in 24 hours.

I almost hope TT doesn't have a good promotion that day; I think the combo of a promotion and The Blob in the same day would cause SE's site to have a major meltdown

The SAE website will certainly crash at 4pm the day that The Blob goes up for preorder. Their system is ancient and I don't think they've upgraded since the Christine fiasco.

The Blob will absolutely sell out before the end of the night it goes up for preorder. Twilight Time has gotten to be more well-known in the few years since Christine was released and those horror fans are a vicious bunch.

Thank heaven I don't care for any of the horror titles Twilight Time has released.

Don't forget that Christine did not have a limit for the # of copies a customer could order. There were reports of scalpers grabbing 10+ copies at a time. The Blob will likely be limited to 2 copies per customer from the start, so I suspect it will take longer to sell out than Christine for that reason alone.

Its not so much the selling out that Im concerned with, it's the Blob thread on here that will get flooded with hateful comments that will cause viral cyber bickering to no end
And TT will then have comments on their Posts to Page as well that Im sure will be more "happy" people expressing their displeasure

I will say their server did not crash the last two times I ordered (the Sinbad movies was one)

I agree. There's a cloister effect on these boards and a dozen or so people can convince themselves of unrealistic expectations.

It doesn't have the king/carpenter base. It'll sell out perhaps a touch faster than th Sinbad titles. That's the pace I'd expect.

their site is hosted on amazon servers and since Christine they have increased their bandwidth, they don't seem to have a problem when they have the autographed promotions. I'm sure this will really put it to the test.

I agree the limit will slow it down.

I think it will sell out in less than a day, never underestimate the power of the rabid horror fan.

Incorrect. CHRISTINE had a limit of 10 right from the start. But ya, that's a pretty generous limit and THE BLOB will surely be a 2 per customer from the start.

What exactly was the CHRISTINE fiasco? I was there that day right when they went on sale, and ordered my copy easily and watched them all sell out in 7 hours. Because they sold out fast is a fiasco?

Also, Christine wasn't released a few years ago; more like 15 months.

Your right, we were all doing the count down with the cart game, the only big crash I can remember was when they had the Pat Boone autographed copies of Journey to the Centre of the Earth.

Wrong thread.

But in the past it has been late September and late February (although last year it was Oct 1 due to a B&N sale in late September).

Well I'll respectfully submit you are overestimating the ability of the crowd here to sell what you think it will, along with the fact that TT still isn't well known enough outside of this and a few other sites.

At least a week if not more.
