Not necessarily. Heaven and Earth is a Warner title, licensed to TT at the special request of Oliver Stone. It is a unique release and may not follow any past overseas release patterns from Sony, Fox, or MGM.

From TT's Facebook page, in response to a question about a Region B release:
Quote:
Twilight Time DVD Label: There are no plans for a region B release of Heaven & Earth at this time.
Maybe Warner will listen if Region B/C fans of the film were to contact them expressing interest in a non-Region A release.

while a TT release is shipped to for me 30$ BD + 10$ shipping + ~8$ tax

(and while the bitrate might be the half, and the audio only 16bit.. i might consider the inferior release here because of the price) 48$ vs 10,59$hmmm

I can confirm having owned both discs that the german is noticeable inferior video wise.

With TT do what I do, but them in bunches of 4-5 or more to smooth shipping costs (or luck out like I did with TCM shop's 30% off coupon which worked on TT titles too, too bad the new TT releases seem to only ship to US from TCM shop though).

ordering multiple items at TT does increase the risk of getting hit by customs on the other hand. the money that i would save on shipping will most likely just end up in the hands of the custom office

i think that will be the case with my order of the Blob.. still waiting to receive that one. i quess if you are already willing to pay 30 bucks for a movie it doesnt matter much if its a few $ more in the end.

but its nice that more and more TT releases get EU/UK releases like The Driver or Rapture for example.

I usually order in batches of 3 or more titles, never had one package from SAE stuck in customs. I do stick with the low cost shipping though and don't pay extra.

sorry keep forgetting about customs, the limit in Australia is a very generous $1000 for imports.

Usually there are people posting that their pre-orders have already shipped. And, as always, the 'pending' comments till next week. Have I missed something on ship date, or what seems to be the norm now, are we going to receive them a week after the release date as usual...

Except for 70s/80s horror titles, there hasn't been a single TT title that has sold out in less than two months from the pre-order date. So I would expect Birdman of Alcatraz to last at least well into December.

Frankenheimer's The Train went pretty quick.

I only start worrying when the title goes to 1 per person limit. THis time of year is rough to keep up with all the releases so I try to pick and choose them smartly I don't think this one will sell out super fast. (I could be wrong)

I just received a shipping notice email from SAE for When the Wind Blows so based on the USPS it looks like a shipping label was created today. Guessing it will actually ship out sometime this week.

Yes, it did, but not quicker than two months.

The fastest-selling non-70s/80s-horror titles so far are:

Wild at Heart: 2014 03 19 (pre-order) to 2014 06 26 (OOP) - 14 weeks
Rollerball: 2014 04 23 (pre-order) to 2014 06 26 (OOP) - 9 weeks
The Train 2014 05 21 (pre-order) to 2014 07 21 (OOP) - 9 weeks

I have now added this information to the first post in this thread.
Actually it's the third - The Roots of Heaven was accidentally Region A locked.

I think having a greater selection of titles to choose from also plays a part in slowing down the selling rate.
