Well, it obviously now makes me wait before I buy their Blu-ray.
Well, I think they probably won't reissue these titles a 3rd time so the reissue should be it at least from Twilight Time. And that's just a select few with most sold out titles never seeing a reissue.

TT is still a great source for blu rays and I think they would regret not having another anniversary sale. They sell many more units during that sale than the rest of the calender year. I spent $350 last spring.

I'd like to think that having the 5th birthday sale would be a no-brainer for them. I dropped about that same amount you did on this last sale that SAE had during late November/early December.

And speaking of moving product, shouldn't there be a Quantity Alert coming soon? They said they'd post one after the sale. The sale was over about a month ago.

I'm relatively new to TT, but have already accepted I'm likely to pay full price every time. If a sale happens to come along, then great. But I'm not waiting just to save $10, and maybe see a title like The Big Heat go OOP again before I can snap one up.

I have a feeling that I won't be able to wait for the sale for The Big Heat. I think that one is going to go pretty quickly. And if that's the case, I'll gladly pay full price.

I agree with several others in that I'm not buying as many Twilight Time titles as I used to.

I appreciate that they are re-releasing titles for those who missed out, and increasing the amount they initially sell as everyone should have a chance to buy these films, but at the same time it has decreased the urgency to order them.

Unless it's a title that will sell out extremely quick, I'm going to wait for sales from now on, and even then it's not the end of the world, as they have or are re-releasing most of their sold out titles this year.

With the Canadian dollar so low, $30 US plus shipping is almost $50 a Blu-ray, that's way too much when I can get Shout/ Scream, Kino, etc. Blu-rays for in the $15-$25 range.

Plus all the re-issues with better transfers or new extras have kind of burnt me out. I couldn't care less about the resell value of the discs, it's more that I want the re-issues, and double dipping on their titles really adds up.

It won't. The original release took a while to sell out (Almost a year?), and this is the same transfer, just with some new extras, which many people do not care about. Add in the fact that there are several releases around the world and I can almost guarantee this will be available for quite some time. I have had the original release sealed for sale ($30) or trade on this site for months now, and have had zero offers for it. Unless it's a genre flick, expect it to take a while for it to sell out.

I know. I've been waiting for the low quantity alert as well. I didn't spend very much on the November/December sale because of Christmas spending. The birthday sale comes at a great time for me for spending money. I have a list of 15 to 20 titles I hope are on sale.

I'm hoping for Count Yorga Vampire and Scream and Scream Again to be included on the next sale......

horror and sci-fi titles usually are better sellers but they did include Zardoz last time so there's hope!!

I've found myself holding off on purchasing some TT titles the past 4-5 months as well. I've still been purchasing some (usually long-desired titles or genre titles with a greater chance of selling out), but there are a good 6-8 released the past couple months that I've decided to wait on... being confident that they won't sell out anytime soon and hoping for a 5th anniversary sale.

I just placed an order with SAE which included the autographed copy of The Fabulous Baker Boys; I was kind of surprised it was still available to order. My other picks were all sentimental favorites that I haven't seen in some time:

Broken Lance
A Man for All Seasons
Places in the Heart
The Young Lions

My guess is that many people bought Fabulous Baker Boys in the last sale, which is why it's hanging around this long. (That's what I did).

Funny thing...I went to the SAE website today and ordered only the autographed copy of the Baker Boys...

$4.35 for shipping was my total invoice, makes me wonder.

I will update when and if I get the shipped email....

You should let them know their promo is broken.

He already did. There's no way SAE is going to ship him a free movie (signed or not) with no qualifying purchases. They may be slow sometimes, but they're not stupid.

They're also a small mom and pop operation, so something like this is less likely to slip through the cracks, but you never know. They could have some temp filling orders today.

Didn't know until late yesterday that the Baker Boys promo was going on. Saw it was still up today so I went ahead and got it along with some other titles that I would've ended up getting at some point anyway.

Glad I checked this thread today - same, here. The Promotion is still on.

Picked up the promotion with:
First Men in the Moon
Journey to the Center of the Earth
Mysterious Island
House of Bamboo

While my intensity in purchasing TT titles has dwindled, as others have also mentioned, I have also never really forgiven myself for not purchasing Mysterious Island during its first run. Personally, I'll only be purchasing during these autograph promotions, or maybe during the $10-off sales. And only 5 at a time. I have a queue.

I came very close to ordering the Free Promo, but in all honesty I'm just not that big a Fan of the Movie, I'd just as well wait for the next signed promo and build up My Wish List and get a Movie I really would like in My Collection.
