And I also like what I've seen of Night of the Living Dead so far...it's minimal yet iconic. Obviously, the following still inspired it: ![]() As for the Enemy Mine cover...well, not really my cup 'o joe. As you say, it seems a bit "faux-bro"...I mean, there's no expression of human/alien friendship in this movie which is that simplistic or obvious. At least it isn't the nth reproduction of the the original head-to-head 1-sheet art, and the title lettering is very nice. I don't hate it. Guess I'll get used to it. Regarding the covers: Sorry, but they're both disasters. Seems like TT really goes out of their way to muck up the cover art... ![]() |

Yep, I don't know why TT don't just use the original film poster art. I didn't think Journey To The Centre Of The Earth was very good, & The Egyptian was a really crude version of the poster, but then again, does it really matter.

Quite like the NOTLD cover, not so hot about Enemy Mine.
Oh and I know TT praise can already get a little sickly in this thread sometimes, but I just wanted to say that after listening to him on the Double Indemnity commentary, Nick Redman has a very soothing aged British accent ![]() |

![]() This image appeared on early 90s VHS, DVD, and even Laserdisc releases, both domestically and internationally, but was redone for subsequent re-issues. It's "iconic" in the sense of using one simple striking zombie image to represent many. Last edited by ROclockCK; 08-30-2012 at 05:39 PM. |

Expectations are a funny thing Yankees0222. I don't think it has hit some folks yet how appropriate that cover is for both this movie and the collection.
![]() I'm not even going there on this one... ![]() |

![]() I just think they could have used something which immediately calls to mind 'NOTLD 1990', rather than something which leaves us cold. |

I think this cover is much stronger because of that ruthless, reductive simplicity. Last edited by ROclockCK; 08-30-2012 at 07:21 PM. |

The NOTLD art can certainly be improved upon, but it still beats out both the VHS art and the original poster. Just because it came first doesn't necessarily mean they got it right. I cannot stand the cream background that they've used. It's NIGHT of the Living Dead, isn't it? The TT art at least evokes that simple aspect.

Perhaps, but looking at all of the '68 NOTLD posters, they all had a dark/night/black motif to them.
