I'm sorry but almost 4 weeks to get my order (with no preorders) was totally unacceptable. When I pay for something in stock I don't expect it to be a month later. And yes it was a debacle and I hope they have learned from it and if there is another big sale it wont turn into a 3 to 4 week nightmare for others.

Your personal first world problem does not equate to the greatest shipping debacle in the history of home media as you describe it.

SAE got behind during that sale. Volumes were higher than expected for what is a mom and pop outfit. Sh*t happens. My order took a couple of weeks extra to ship out. SAE worked hard to fill orders. And if memory serves there was a.severe weather event that also delayed things. Just to provide some perspective, most importantly no one was hurt. SAE learned from that sale and their most recent sale late last year had greatly improved shipping times.

SAE is a great group of folks who I have ordered from every month for nearly five years now. I can count on one hand how many times my orders took more than a week to ship. Not a big deal. Every order arrives with the best shipment packaging of any retailer out there. Hats off to them and small businesses like them.

yeah, I was really impressed with my last order from SCREEN ARCHIVES. It was the one where they e-mailed existing customers with the 20% off any titles you wanted.

I placed my order early in the week, it shipped the next day, and I had my movies before the week-end!

In the past I did wait for some orders, but never super long, and yes, they mail first class and are very careful with the packaging.

Well, one would certainly hope not!

But this reminds me of Best Buy when they inexplicably don't get any copies of a major release that was prominently featured in the ads that they mailed out to everyone in the area with a newspaper subscription.

"Did you need it today?"

No, honey. I didn't need it today. You see, nobody really needs any of your products. You sell entertainment. It's not insulin we're talking about here. Nothing in your store is crucial to anyone's continued existence. Not a damn thing.

But advertising it for sale and then not even getting it in until the sale price no longer applies is at least grounds for severe annoyance.

I'm in the UK and have ordered a small handful of titles from Screen Archives Entertainment - I had no idea it was only run by a couple of people.

I've always had my orders delivered to me around a week after ordering, well packed, and accurate.

No complaints here.

Free promo this Weds, March 9th is Broken Lance signed by Earl Holliman, $119.80 minimum, so 4 $29.95 titles for the freebie.

SAE is a great company that ships quite quickly--I have ordered from them many times. They are very good at processing orders and shipping them out in a timely, efficient manner. My issue is with Canada Post seemingly misplacing/needlessly delaying delivery of my latest order package. It's only one order out of 20+ orders that have been successfully delivered, so it's not going to deter me from ordering from SAE in the near future!

I also love that they ask "Did you find everything you were looking for?"

"No, I didn't. You have plenty of copies of Irrational Man on DVD, but not a single copy on Blu-ray. Not even a shelf spot for it."

"I'm sorry. You can order it on-line, or we can order it for you and have it shipped here or to your home."

"If I want to order it on-line, I could just go to Amazon, where I'd also order several other things that you don't carry."

If you order a certain number of other titles at the usual price, you get the (signed) promo title for free. It's not complicated. It's like when I go into the pharmacy to buy a bottle of Vitamin D, and they happen to have a BOGO sale (Buy One Get One free). I still have to pay for the first bottle, but if I buy that one, I get a second bottle free.

That makes sense now. I guess the way it was worded confused me.

Do you think TT would release a movie that was just released in another region or would they possibly release a movie that has never been released in HD? I'm hoping for the latter. They have a great track record with Sony Harryhausen movies so I'm thinking it will be The 3 Worlds of Gulliver. I guess they could eventually release One Million Years, B.C. if they wanted at some point.

TT held The Hound of the Baskervilles for quite a while after Arrow released it. On the contrary, they will release Eureka in May while Eureka will release it in March. So, it's possible for them to release a title, which is planned to be released in another region.

OMG super excited I didn't even realize Earl is on the commentary track! Somehow I missed that info or I would have probably already ordered it! Huge Police Woman fan. I will be getting this promo for sure.

I think they would, but even if it's The 3 Worlds of Gulliver it's still a win win, since I want both.

I don't think it's Canada Post per say, it's the goddamn customs agents. I mean I literally can order something from Japan, Hong Kong, the UK etc. and have it within 2 weeks. But order something from the States, even when coming from Seattle or NYC and it takes 4-6 (or longer weeks). It's effin ridiculous.

Got to watch out for terrorists coming in the mail I guess.

... no sending things through the mail. I'm not kidding. If only you knew what's going on within Microsoft in the U.S.
