Amen. Watching clips via the Frankenheimer Tribute on the French Connection II BD, has me craving this also ( I've never seen it ).

[sigh] Paramount. At the rate their home video department operates, we'd have a better chance of raising money to fund a remake ourselves!

(I would, of course, love to be proven wrong.)

Black Sunday (often confused with the Bava flick) is a first-rate political thriller with a career-best performance from Bruce Dern as an unhinged Vietnam vet assisting a Middle Eastern terrorist plot against the U.S.

It failed because audiences found the idea of fundamentalists commandeering an aircraft and using it as a guided missile against the American public far-fetched...just goes to show how prescient it was. I'd call it the most ahead-of-its-time flick from the 70s after Network.

In addition to the above, it's got Robert Shaw as a determined Israeli commando, Richard Jordan as his steely assistant, Marthe Keller as a frighteningly convincing "patriot" who nonetheless manages to elicit sympathy, and a heart-stopping shootout/foot chase.

FUN FACT: This was the only novel outside the Hannibal series penned by Thomas Harris.

Watch it ASAP.

Saying I haven't seen it, doesn't mean I'm not familiar with the plot.

Sorry to ruffle your feathers by including a few plot points with my praise for the movie.

Wait, no I'm not. You can familiarize yourself with the plot mechanics all you want, means nothing unless you see how they're executed.

Funny you would say this ^ .

The crowd-funded makers of Star Trek Axanar would like to have a word with you.
And so would the Paramount legal department...

and a great John Williams score which is always overlooked in favour of his more famous work in Star Wars, Indiana Jones, E.T., Jaws etc.

On TT matters again, I wonder if there will be another signed promo this month or are they gonna wait until they sell all the Harlock? Maybe they should let people buy a 2nd copy if they need to get rid of these. How many did they sign? 1,000?

Their June titles are now available for pre-order.

^^Add Hound Of The Baskervilles to that.

I wish Romeo Is Bleeding and Inserts had features.

The signed promos tend to be in the 100-150 copy range.

She would have turned 90 today, but Marilyn Monroe (1926-1962) will forever remain enshrined as an icon of youthful glamour, knowing naughtiness and as both a glittering product and tragic victim of the Hollywood Dream Machine. On this day in 1962, she filmed what was to be her last scene in the unfinished/unrealized film Something’s Got to Give under George Cukor’s direction and alongside co-stars Dean Martin and Wally Cox. She also made time that day for what would be her last public appearance at a charity baseball game at Dodgers Stadium, looking every inch the vision of movie-star beauty her fans would expect. Two months later, she would be gone but her wily allure and heartbreaking vulnerability live on in the 30 movies she left us. She will join the great stars in Twilight Time’s hi-def Blu-ray library in the foreseeable future, and today’s Preorder Opening Date is dedicated to her.

Wow, the signed promo still hasn't "sold" out? This must be a record. My guess is that the people who might be interested in a 3D Japanese anime film would have little or no interest in the other films that Twilight Time has to offer, and vice versa.

I know I have no interest in it. Plus you have to buy 5 titles to get it, not to mention they brought it out about a week after the 10 to Midnight promo, as well as the 5th anniversary sale. I didn't think it would last this long, but I'm not surprised it's lingered.

Or Don't Bother to Knock. Either one would be infinitely preferable to Let's Make Love.

I'm hoping for Don't Bother to Knock, too.

After I noticed I was getting somewhat behind in recent titles, I decided to take a copy off their hands when I put in my catch-up-a-bit order, just over a month ago. Guess I didn't get the next to last copy after all. (Or perhaps I did. )
