Hope this isn't a question thats been asked before. Looked back a few pages and didn't see any Paramount mentions lol

Thanks.
They have some prerequisites that cause many labels to balk unless they have the collateral. Warner has about 700 key titles from Paramount until the end of the year where it can be renewed or be done

it's great when old classics sell well, it encourages TT to release more, and I know I want more.

Well, Paramount has kept a bunch of their deep catalog titles for themselves, but has licensed a good part of it to others. For all practical purposes, Olive Films built their label on licensing the Paramount and Paramount-owned Republic catalogs. Currently, Warner has a distribution deal for several hundred Paramount titles.

The Warner deal is finished. They have not been and will not release any new titles. Basically they are trying to move remaining sku's and will for the remainder of 2016.

Not sure, but I'd imagine the top selling stats would have more to do with the star Rita Hayworth.

My guess is that it has more to do with it being a classic 3-D movie. I'm sure there are completists out there (or in here) who want to collect every classic 3-D movie that gets released.

Plus it has Rita Hayworth

Maybe, but since there are only ~15 releases from the 30s-mid 60s available as a US release...not exactly a big collector market.

Well, that was my point. Since there are so few classic 3-D releases available, those collectors would be all over Miss Sadie Thompson like ducks on a junebug.

f course I just picked up the Signal One release. Oh well, if it is a substantial upgrade, I may double dip.

I hope so. Always nice on those Saturday mornings to grab my coffee and see what they've got coming down the pipeline in the next few months.

For sure! I'm thinking the end of the year is going to be expensive. But, hey.....at least the Cavs are World Champs

Agree that I think end of year will be expensive (although a sale during that span would be nice, even if new releases won't be included).

And, the Cavs are indeed WORLD CHAMPS!

Yes there are, but Man in the Dark was TT first 3D release and it did not sell as well as Miss Sadie Thompson. I don't think it was the number one seller for any weeks.

That's a lot of newcomers to the low quantities list. It would be nice if they just gave out the actual number of remaining copies because I don't know what they really consider "low".

That's not a new list. It's the same batch of titles that TT posted (along with the copy counts) on Facebook back on July 20. Oildude posted that list in the first post in this thread.

OK, I understand that. I'm not on Facebook (I do check the first page often and very much appreciate what oildude does) but, even though the remaining copies are low for those particular titles, I think TT is spinning a little sales ploy to get people to "panic" and buy them up. I certainly don't blame them but for the titles that have been around for 3+ years even 50 remaining copies most likely won't sell out fast. The only titles that truly need to be on the "low quantities list" are Judgment at Nuremberg, Sleepless in Seattle, and First Men in the Moon (imo).

A Man For All Seasons is terrific and may be the best film on that list.

Well, in the above-posted case, it came from Screen Archives, not Twilight Time. But that said, I can't disagree. I have seven of the twelve titles listed by SAE, and of the other five I'm only really interested in two (both around the 500-copy range). The only one I'm "in danger" of missing out on might be Sleepless in Seattle: I'm still not sure about getting it. It's something that my wife likes, but she's fine with the DVD copy we have, so it's not high priority.

On the other hand, you can't really blame SAE (and TT) for wanting to encourage people to buy them. At any rate, titles typically don't get on the LQA list until they drop below 600 available copies. That's 20% of the press run, and I think that's a reasonable place to start getting people motivated.
