Besides emails/FB post any way to check stock besides entering 999 I know it comes up with only 50 but would the cart show if only 49 or less are in stock ?

I didn't realize the sale ended on October 15th until I went back to SAE's website to reread the details. The description can be a little misleading/confusing as it also says "This is a one-time “package price” of seven titles until they are gone." But if it ends on Oct. 15th, that's a different story than from what I was originally thinking a few posts back. (Maybe the Oct. 15th deadline only applies to the newest titles added. ???)

Exactly. When I ordered the first batch of titles from the "7 for $70" promotion, only four of them were ones I really wanted. Two others I'm happy to have, although they're on DVD rather than BD. And one I only got to fill out the seven. But even if I bought the four I really wanted at the "usual" sale price of $10 off, that would still be more than $70. So I pretty much got the two DVDs and the fill-up BD for free.

I can see them running out of stock before October 15. I think the October 15 date is just there to create a sense of urgency to get these titles as soon as one can.

From a TT post at another site:

"Just a heads-up that SAE's 7 for $70 Bundle Promotion ends October 15th."

And in answer to a question about whether more titles might be added:

"Probably not before the 15th."

I forgot about the word probably. Sorry about that. But it doesn't seem likely.

Got my signed promo in the mail today. This was my first time ordering from TT instead of SAE. The five titles seemed to be packed nicely in the box, but when I pulled them out, I immediately saw that the top one, Sense and Sensibility had a big piece of the case snapped inwards and the inside booklet was bunched up. Below that was 9 to 5, which has a snapped off booklet clip jiggling around inside. The other three, including the signed copy, seem to be okay. Time to contact TT for replacements. Sigh. I'm hesitant to generalize based on one incident, but in all my years ordering with SAE, I've never had damage occur to any shipment, and for $12.50 in shipping, I would have expected better.

Bummer. That's really too bad.

But wouldn't that almost certainly be the fault of the delivery service, and not TT. I mean, I think you might still be able to ask for a replacement from TT, but I'm not sure you can blame them....? But am I missing something?

Again, sorry your stuff got hurt. Expecting mine in a day or so, and I hope it's ok.

Just a thought.
I'm sure it is because they are simply having a hard time moving these titles at $30 each. They are probably sitting on too many. How many people outside of the first group of fans/buyers do you think get sold on wanting to see some of these? I really like John Huston, but honestly, for $10, I don't even want to give The Roots of Heaven a go. Maybe I'd like it, but there are just too many other movies out there to see and if I were to add this to my collection, it'd sit so far low on my watch queue that it just doesn't make it worth it.

I believe that Philadelphia and The Way We Were have region free titles that routinely go for less than $30. I guess they just aren't moving at the designated price point. What other reason is there to have a sale like this?

I am not sure on The Way We Were, but The European releases of Philadelphia from Sony have all the extras from the dvd except for the commentary, which appears to be the only extra that the TT release carries over from the Sony dvd release. I have the DE release, but I am going to pick up Philadelphia from the sale for the commentary and liner notes, and I don't mind for 10 bucks.

Heck of a sale. I'm sure TT's window of exclusivity is expiring on many of the titles. Whatever the reason I'm taking advantage. I'm curious how many titles will sell out by 10/15.

Oh, definitely. The most recent title on the sale list is Royal Flash, which should be at the end of its 3-year window by at least this November or December, if not earlier.

Yeah, I understand how they want to get slow moving titles moving and love that they're having this sale. I just wondered about having the sale until everything was gone ... which doesn't seem to be the case anymore, if it ever was. I guess I was curious more than anything.

I'm glad you posted this, because I was thinking along those lines too. I don't trust my memory enough to be absolutely sure though. (Know what I mean? heh)

Pulled the trigger on a second bundle:
Nicholas and Alexandra
Bite the Bullet
Swamp Water
Demetrius and the Gladiators
Bonjour Tristesse
Love is a Many-Splendored Thing
Pal Joey

I have many of the others, including from my bundle last month. But I wish I'd waited, as that first bundle had a few I'd have gladly replaced with some of the newer offerings.

Not complaining too loudly - for $10 each, I'm sure they are still great films - but the internet was made for venting, right? lol

Just ordered a bundle:

Bonjour Tristesse
Cover Girl
Pal Joey
Royal Flash
Swamp Water
The Way We Were
The Wayward Bus

Top 10 sellers on the SAE site are all items from this sale. It'll be interesting to see how many of them completely sell out before the sale's done.

I placed another bundle order yesterday, after taking advantage of the first offer a few weeks back. This time there were six titles I was curious about; it wasn't much of a stretch to add a seventh, especially since Alamo Bay stars Ed Harris, one of my favorite actors. I picked up:

Alamo Bay (1985)
Bite the Bullet (1975)
Demetrius and the Gladiators (1954)
Desiree (1954)
Pal Joey (1957)
The Roots of Heaven (1958)
Sexy Beast (2000)

$10.00 each is quite an attractive deal for me. These Twilight Time titles sure beat anything I might pull out of the Wal-Mart blu-ray bin for $7.88 each! (grin) I also went ahead and added 9 to 5 (1980) to my order, since I really wanted it and it's selling briskly.
