I just watched it. The one and only other time I watched it was almost 40 years ago when it was first released. It had a profound effect on me because I have lived a full life of experiences and I could understand it more now as an adult opposed to when I was teenager. I'm not sure how others will feel about it because it is a nuanced film that does not wear its heart on its sleeve, or does it try to. Pacino is wonderful in an understated performance and Marthe Keller is quite touching. There is a natural chemistry between the two.

I'm extremely happy with the disc. Sony did a fantastic job on the transfer with a stunning 4k remaster. 1970's Europe looks amazing. I think I loved it so much because of the European influence, not just in the settings but the tone of the film.

I hope people take a chance on it and pick it up at some point. It is one the best films Twilight Time has released IMO

I placed a bundle order on Friday that included Demetrius and the Gladiators. The order currently shows as pending and I'm holding my breath waiting for shipment notification. Would hate to miss out on this one.

I would think that if your order was accepted on Friday, a copy was allocated to you, so you should be safe. Back when I placed an order that included Sleepless in Seattle, I placed the order just hours before it was declared OOP, and I still got a copy.

Back when The Train first went OOP, I had attempted to pay with PayPal when there were only seven copies left. Needless to say, the copy in my cart was sold out from under me. It seems to work on a first completed basis and it doesn't appear that there is a way for copies to be oversold generally. If you got a receipt, you should almost undoubtedly be good.

Thanks, I did get a shipment notification and all titles have shipped. I'm familiar with orders being in pending status for a day or two, but this is the first time I've had a title go OOP while I was waiting. You never know, you know?

Now I can go back to worrying about the future of the world.

Well, nuts. I missed out on Demetrius. Should have put in an order earlier, but had bought a bundle with the first bundle announcement and had recently made two other big splurges. Was holding off on spending money for another week or so.

It does look better than the DVD, not as good as The Robe.

I placed a bundle order with Screen Archives for:

Swamp Water
Rapture
Nicholas and Alexandra
Bite the Bullet
The Disappearance
Philadelphia
Sexy Beast

All blind buys except for Philadelphia.

Much has already been said of this bundle offer, but I'll just add by saying that it gave me a great opportunity to finally cross off a bunch of titles that have been hovering near the top of my Twilight Time wishlist for a while, but always got bumped off at the last minute.

When does Screen Archives Entertainment typically have their $19.95/$14.95 sales, or are they random? How about sales direct from Twilight Time? Thank you if you're able to answer this.

Looks like John Carpenter's Vampires has sold out. It no longer appears on TT's website. I will update the first post once TT confirms it.

Look what it took to make so many Twilight Time releases finally sell through.

Right after I checked their Facebook lol.

I can't believe First Men on the Moon is still lingering at under 100 copies and has been for a month. Stellar transfer, the best looking Harryhausen film yet released, and maybe my favorite from him (toss up with Jason and the Argonauts).

As a kid I loved The Valley of Gwangi best, but I haven't seen it in so long it has been dethroned since then. We need WAC to get on it so I can relive the magic and put it back on top.

I'll pretend you just didn't say that first part

Seriously, if I had the $$ I'd buy up every remaining copy of First Men in the Moon and sell them off at a nice profit. No way this release should be still available.

As for Gwangi....no way this should NOT be available
