Yeah, nobody rates a movie 10.5 out of 10 or 5 1/2 stars out of 5.

I remember in my schools, an "A" could be anywhere from maybe 94% correct to 100%. A "B" would be maybe 86% to 93%, and so on. Can't remember if there was actually an A+, but that could denote a definite 100%. Not all A's were equal.

Actually, it has been hinted at.

Originally Fox had the right to put out any MGM titles on DVD and Blu-Ray that they wanted to. They started cautiously with a lot of the classics from MGM UA, including a few Woody Allens. They did Manhattan, Sleeper, Annie Hall, and Hannah and Her Sisters. Then they decided against releasing any more Woody Allen titles so it fell to us to sort of pick up the titles. We had all of the MGM/UA Woody’s, minus the four they released, and a couple of the Sony’s coming down the line.
It would be highly unlikely that TT would release any of the titles that Sony has already released, which leaves only Husbands and Wives,
Manhattan Murder Mystery, and Sweet and Lowdown.

Well, maybe some of us should try to do mini reviews of TT titles—or even TT titles we missed?

I thought about it, but didn't buy Heaven Knows Mr. Allison during the recent sale--because it's available for "free" on Netflix, because it doesn't have a commentary track, and because when I saw it c. 25 years ago on American Movie Classics I felt mixed about the movie. But I finally watched it again yesterday on Netflix, and what a difference a quarter of a century makes. I really liked watching it last night, and found it both suspenseful and emotionally moving. Mitchum and Kerr do a wonderful job with what is admittedly a rather contrived situation. A big part of my lack of connection with the movie in the early 1990s was the curse of pan and scan. This movie, like almost all other CinemaScope movies, really needs widescreen to work. Anyway, a very good movie that too late I now wish that I'd picked up....But for those like me who missed it, check on Netflix.

Twilight Time has released or will release a total of nine movies from 1958, making it one of their biggest years. I own seven of TT's releases from 1958 on blu-ray, and most of them rank pretty highly for me. The link below has the full list of TT releases, and by pressing on the "year" button, it will list all of Twilight Time's movies by the year of original release.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_o..._Time_releases

My favorites movies released in 1958, more or less in order....

Vertigo
The Long, Hot Summer (Twilight Time)
The Big Country
South Pacific
Cat on a Hot Tin Roof
Gigi
I Want to Live! (Twilight Time)
The Fly
The Inn of the Sixth Happiness
Run Silent, Run Deep
The Young Lions (Twilight Time)
The 7th Voyage of Sinbad
The Magician
Bonjour Tristesse (Twilight Time)
Saint Louis Blues
A Night to Remember
The Bravados
The Vikings
Bell, Book and Candle (Twilight Time)
The Blob
Cowboy (Twilight Time)
Houseboat
The Roots of Heaven (Twilight Time)
Tom Thumb
Auntie Mame

From 1958, I still need to see: The Quiet American (Twilight Time), Kings Go Forth (Twilight Time) Man of the West, The Last Hurrah, Brothers Karamazov, The Defiant Ones, Damn Yankees, Dracula, Dunkirk, The Hidden Fortress, Marjorie Morningstar, The Old Man and the Sea, The Tarnished Angels, Touch of Evil, Merry Andrew, The Key, No Time for Sergeants, Some Came Running, etc.

Here's a handy list from 1958's movies and their awards, box office, etc., in case any one else would like to try their hand at making their list of favorites. I'd be interested to see where Twilight Time's titles from 1958 rank on someone else's list of favorites.

Great list for 1955. Fascinating. One of my favorite years too. I'll try to post my list for 1955 soon....

Several of your favorites I haven't yet seen. Thanks for the recommends.

According to imdb and wikipedia, The Bridges at Toko-Ri (one of my favorites too, came out in 1954.)

Right you are. Not sure why I thought it came out in 1955. BTW, I think The Eddy Duchin Story came out in 1956.

Default page 1 low quantity titles

Can somebody please update page 1 low quantity page , Those numbers have been the same for over a month now .

I would like to buy more soon as I have funds but I would rather buy the ones that are almost out that I don't have so I have a chance to get them first and get others I don't have as I have even more funds .

Will be very disappointed if some sell out before I can get them .

Please update page 1 quanatities asap

thank you

That usually means nothing else has been announced as low quantity, are there specific titles missing from the list?

Also, June 29th is less than two weeks, which is hardly "over a month" by the calendars used on this website.

I get that but if they post estimated quantities they have and people have likely bought a bit since they posted you would think they would update that estimated list once a week or two . Also if more tiles become low they would add those to the list .

In my opinion the more they update and announce titles that are getting low 200 or less they would sell out a lot faster as people would be jumping to buy them so they can get 1 or more before they go out of stock .

Makes a lot of sense to me .

What you are seeing is the latest Low Quantity Update. You PM'd me about this ten days ago and I replied to you:

Quote:
The Low Quantity List is up to date as far as the numbers supplied by Twilight Time for each title. They do not necessarily update remaining quantities for every title at the same time and I only use the numbers they provide. If a number hasn't changed in awhile, it is because there has been no update. However, the actual today is going to be less than shown no doubt.

Thanks for visiting the thread. As I have posted numerous times, it is not a perfect system but it is all there is. My advice is if you want a title and it is on the first page Low Quantity Alert, don't keep waiting on it. There may be another update on the ones that are 300-400 range, but if the total is lower, it could either disappear before an update (especially if on sale) or the next update might happen when it hits 50 or less.
That is all there is to say on this. You have posted this same request multiple times here already.

Or they would train people to wait until they had definite word that a title was selling out and then scalpers flood the site. The whole point of the "limited printing" is that people don't *know* when it's going to sell out.

At any rate, Twilight Time doesn't post here, so you should direct your request for more regular updates to their Facebook page.
