Just got my Enemy Mine in the mail today.

Has anyone watched it yet? My fingers are crossed on the PQ.
I hope it's not a NOTLD fiasco! Sorry to those of you who have to go through that fiasco.

Yes, it looks very very good.

The gamma/contrast is a bit high though. You can still see some garbage mattes in the opening space battle and on some of the composites don't blend as well as they should (smoke over matte paintings, etc).

here it is

Quote:
As promised, we have discussed NOTLD at the studio and are able to verify via SPE's Mastering Department, that our Blu-ray is indeed the approved transfer from 2010, generated for the film's 20th anniversary, and done in consultation with the film's director of photography. As you will have also seen on this page and elsewhere on the internet, director Tom Savini has now had a chance to view the end product and declared it "fantastic."

As we are aware that some fans of the film will remain disappointed, our offer of a full refund still stands if you wish to return your copy. However, we would caution you with this thought: this is a limited edition run of 3,000 copies, and the title is sold out. Right or wrong, it is a collector's item, and there are no guarantees this title will ever be repressed. Going forward, if TT encounters another situation where the new transfer differs greatly from the old, we will bring that to collectors' attention prior to the disc being offered so that you may know of the changes beforehand. Thanks for all your support.

Best,

Nick Redman and Brian Jamieson.

I think most fans should be satisfied with that statement, even if they don't agree in principle with some of the changes done to NOTLD90. Twilight Time has acted appropriately and swiftly to the situation; nothing short of buying the film rights and commissioning an entirely new transfer was ever going to please some customers.

I look forward to Christine on BD and whatever other genre movies Twilight Time can rescue from the studios for release.

I know, I just wish TT would also release images of the back cover art too.

...of course that was a legacy reproduction of the poster intended to compensate for older lower rez, colour-biased, analogue displays.

I really enjoy TT's interpretations of cover art for their releases. But when I first look at that Rains of Ranchipur cover, it makes me think it's a horror film.

Aren't 'disaster-romances' the same thing?

I've noticed a few times in this thread the film Krull has been brought up as a potential TT release. Just wondering why that is, any truth or just rumor based on studio. Thanks for any info you may have.

Nothing definitive, but hopeful for a release, at least I am. Actually it would make the perfect companion for Christine, horror plus sci-fi.
